New Cars
The next race at Imola was the original/predicted first race date for both the F2003-GA and MP4/18A - the new cars from Ferrari and McLaren respectively.
I doubt that Ferrari won't change - they need to improve fast; but what about McLaren. Unless the new car is now perfect, the MP4/17D seems to doing a nice job as it is! |

I expect reliability wrinkles from both cars, so this might be a chance for Williams and Renault to get some wins...

I see problems with both cars. Reliability must be the biggest issue.
If you have a faster machine back home, why would you not bring it to the first three races? |

Fly away races - more difficult to fix and/or get parts for if it does go wrong!

It all depends on how much better the new cars are. As ron Dennis said a few years back, it's far easier to make a quick car reliable than it is to make a reliable car fast. It seems the latest ploy is to work on that reliability away from the GPs rather than risk too many dnf's early on.

I don't think we'll see the new McLaren at Imola. I think Barcelona would be the earliest date...

For as long as the races are lilke this, they could drive turbos from '80s if you ask me.
