New F1 Game...but this one could be different.
Take a look at this link at Gamespot.
Could be interesting, at least they've added a different spin on it this time. The worry is that the article says it will be out in april or may. How much time have they had therefore to do a good job on all 4 seasons? |

Interesting! But would you necessarily need to be at Ferrari to be champion in 2002..?

Intersting. BUT -
It's only over 3 years. It's by EA. It looks dire. |

F1 games need a bit of a boost,
i believe improving graphics and gameplay aren't enough, i hope this changes things, although TOCA racedriver was different and i didn't find thatvery good, too easy. |

The main story mode was a little too easy but the ability to up the AI ability in free race mode really made for some good close racing. I have to admit though, that having a reason behind the racing certianly provided more long term attraction than the rest of the sterile console racing games.

That's interesting Damon. I seem to recall that once upon a time you were the great "champion" of the consoles? |

hehe, amazing what GPL will do for you!
The whole league thing we have going is very similar and provides the reason I need to strive for faster times. |

It won't beat GPL, and no game sold by such a big name, to such a large audience ever will

I guess one day there will be another sim to rival GPL (GPL2, maybe?), but until then, I can't see anything luring me away - certainly not a game based on dull and boring modern F1. |

Have you put anything on the Wish List for GPL2?

Just saw this thread - the concept looks very interesting. I guess EA has bought all the licences back to 1999, and is still free to use them. Shouldn't be too much work for EA, it's probably just F1 2002 rehashed with the old seasons put in. Four years isn't really that much, having 1998 would mean then entire 'grooves and narrow track era' would be included.
Still, it'll be sad lining up in 1999 and looking sideways and seeing a Prost, Stewert, Benetton or Arrows |

EA really had to do something different considering that this season we are not only short one team but also one track ....SPA
There would have been no real reason to buy a 2003 game unless it was significantly better in all areas. |
