hey bucko
i need to rolling road my pug 205gti as i've got some type of ignition problem that i thought i'd solved, but it cost me a double header at lydden this weekend gone..so now need to get it sorted.
i tried middlesex tuning in south harrow here
but as soon i said its a 205gti they didn't want to know...
saying that they are a nightmare to tune...

maybe you could try power+engineering in uxbridge, i spoke to them they are not cheap mind at 125+vat
i'm looking for a cheaper option if anyone can help

How ya doing? You could try Sanspeed near me at Bexlyheath, don't know their phone number but they are on the web and must be in directory enquiries somewhere.
If you do try them and they are any good, let me know as I need to set my timing up.

Anuauto has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Redline is the place you need.

If you can get to Surrey/Hampshire - J4a M3, you could try AHMotorsports 01252 845717. Specialises in race cars. Very good with carburettors.

If you can get to Cambridge you could try Peter Baldwin - he definitly deals with race cars and he's good with carbs too. Contact number is 01223 207217

I recently went looking for rolling roads, I live a short distance from Sanspeed but they were not interested in my single seater, we eventually found a very good setup at a place near Sittingbourne, 10 mins of A2. I can't remember the name or details but will post it as soon as I find my print out from last time.

The guy was very good and had no troubles with my twin carb setup.

At that time he was waiting on delivery of a new computer controlled setup so power and torque curve could be produced.

A subject dear to my wallet as I felt I wasted a couple of hundred with Tom Airey near Winchester. He threw away perfectly good ignition components from my race Midget and installed a brand new but duff condenser which cost me a wasted test day at Cadwell.
The guys that restored my faith are Southern Carburettors in Wimbledon (0208 540 2723) - Ross and Dave are both excellent. From £75 per hour.

I use Austec in Crawley, its opposite work, they do a lot of TVR's as well as race cars, they seem to be more sympathetic to real racers than boy racers too. and loved having an old car that you can play with as well !

I'll recommend Peter Baldwin too, he's a top bloke, and he knows what he's doing with twin (or more!) carbs.

And he's a darned sight quicker at getting the peak gee gees out of your engine than anyone else I've been to.

Rob.
