Praise where praise is due

Guys and gals,

after all the complaints about various clubs I thought I should give praise where praise is due.

Step forward the Scottish Motor Racing Club (SMRC).

This weekend was supposed to be a full two day event at Knockhill organised jointly with, I think, the BRSCC who promised 18 visiting races.

The BRSCC contacted the SMRC the previous weekend to say that they could only provided 12 races and the program was cut to a half day Saturday and full day Sunday made up by SMRC classes.

The marshals who turned up on the Saturday were provided with three free cans of beer at the end of the day and on the Sunday with two litres of bottled water to cure the hangover or keep you cool in the summer heat .

So a round of applause for the SMRC, who also managed to arrange the summer in Scotland for this weekend. Any of you soft southeners coming to Knockhill in the rest of the year note that the Scottish summer has officially happened and you therefore need to bring your thermals and oil skins .

KJR.
