This Week's Autosport
Has anyone been able to get hold of a copy of this week's Autosport yet, I went to 3 or 4 places yesterday and I been to a couple of other places this morning with no luck. I just wondered if anyone else was having any problems?

It doesn't help you, but my subsciption issue came. So it isn't a complete printing problem, maybe just distribution?

I managed to pick up what seemed to be the last copy in the WH Smiths in the Arndale in manchester.
However I wanted to see a copy of last weeks and didnt manage to find one anywhere. Are they printing less? Has it become more popular?! |

Nah, Jenson hasn't been on the front for ages; it can't be popular.

Interesting, because for the 1st time in this academic year our union has Autosport on its shelves!

Got mine in subscription today, which is normal.
However twice this year I haven't received copies. The first time Haymarket sent me a replacement, and the 2nd time refused to saying they had proof of postage. They said they had changed printers / distributors and were having some teething problems. This was in June though, so I would hope it was sorted by now! |

Credit to Autosport this week for the cover.
I was all ready to send in a letter of vitriolic content, wondering aloud why Andy Priaulx only got a small caption dedicated to him on the cover and why Tiago Monteiro got the main feature for sneezing in public. But Andy got it more or less dedicated to him and got the green banner treatment too. Nice to see Andy honoured for his achievements at last. |

It was a surprise to see it I must admit, but a pleasant one at that!

Yes, they definitely got the cover right this week! A most enlightened decision!

Lovely cover, and what really matters is that the start of the magazine too is dedicated to him.
Although I know the sense in which Autosport meant it, I'm not sure he's "Britain's Schumacher". He's far far cleaner and honest in his racing than Schumacher ever was or could be. |

My only disappointment was they felt they had to tie the story in with F1, rather than just on his achievement in its own right!

Haha surely you know that AS cant do anything these days unless it is to do with f1.
Shame but if you daft buggers stopped buying it then they might change things!! |

Yes, it can (and does) and no, it wouldn't; it would probably go out of business and my son would be out of a job! Not everyone there reports or writes about F1 and there are other and better ways of influencing matters, but at the end of the day it seems that F1 sells the mag. in greater numbers than anything else. And, yes, I have aired my criticisms of the F1 centric nature of the mag. here, before!

I think if we stopped buying it it would make no difference. Autosport no longer caters directly to the hardcore fan.
We are but a small part of its readership. |

Indeed, you are right. My response was based on the assumption that Chunder was directing his comments at a wider audience than just us 'anoraks'!
