All-American Racers
Does anyone know what AAR and Dan Gurney plan to do next? They haven't raced since Toyota Atlantics in 2000, and the putative American F1 team seems to have fallen through for the moment. It would be a crying shame to see AAR join the extinct list. Dan Gurney for President! Or, if not, then for CART team owner, at least.

Dan says he's done with running a big-time race team. He says he doesn't need the headaches anymore.
But, you never know... Last edited by Lee Janotta; 7 May 2003 at 21:07. |

So his involvement with the F1 idea is done? Shame; I was looking forward to a pair of Eagle-Cosworths on the grid.

Dan and his son (who live just a few miles away from me) are in the process of manufacturing and marketing a radical motorcycle, the name of whitch excapes me at the moment.
It (motorcycle) has an extremley low CG, in as much as, the rider sits very low in back of the engine. Sells for about $30K |

However revolutionary this bike is, it's no occupation for Gurney and AAR. We've got Emmo running a team in CART, surely somebody would want to sponsor a revived effort for Dan Gurney? Think of the publicity!

Dan is doing this two wheel thing mostly for his son.
I know Dan doesnt look it but he is about 70yoa, I don't think he's looking for big challenges. We have a very nice climate here, a good place to take it easy. |

Dan does too much for that boy. He's spoiled him.

Is Alex Gurney really that bad? I've never seen him race, and I don't expect him to be as good as his dad, but does he really suck?
