Apparently Marussia were were to be testing, with Maria de Villota in the car.
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/m...153004825.html Hopefully she's alright! Can't be too much to hit on an airfield... |

The reports as they stand are very worrying indeed. I do hope that the incident isn't as serious as it sounds.

Hopefully this is a bit of typical media sensationalism but the Mirror reporting that she's fighting for her life?

Terrible news, made even more so by the nature of the circumstances. Can't help thinking that if these tests were carried out on race tracks the likelyhood of such an incident would be reduced.
I hope she recovers. |

This is not good, "life threatening injuries" described in racing never sounds promising, but I hope she is okay.

Hopefully all will be well with Maria, as hitting a truck in an F1 car doesn't sound good.

It seems as though the car was accelerating at the time of impact, which always adds to the force the car has upon a stationary object, regardless of actual speed.
Hopefully things will not get any worse than they already appear to be. Fingers crossed, etc. |

BBC Cambs have posted a photo from their reporter who was present at the time.
The flat loading ramp of the truck appears to be at head height. |

Speculation about the anti-stall system could have kicked in?

Whatever the detail this is a dreadful accident - and one which will make the issue of frontal cockpit protection come to the top of the attention pile again. |
