Zetec Winter Championship
With the Winter Zetec Championship looking pretty strong this year (25+ entries?), what teams and what drivers will be the successful ones?
Also, if anyone has an entry list please post it here. I know that Stuart Hall has gone from Duckhams to JLR to join old T-car mate Tom Kimber-Smith. Both have looked strong in testing. Have heard Jarvis is with Duckhams? Nexa are running two scandinavians and regular american Koskinen. |

Kimber-Smith should do quite well as he has been improving all year. He is probably the best bet for the championship. Stuart hall on the other hand has not improved much at all in a year's time so I think we can expect the same from him. Jarvis is in his first year so he should continue to come on, as will Koskinen as he has improved quite rapidly in the last part of the season and into the festival. Don't know much about his team mates, but should be interesting to see how they get on.

Charlie Donnelly in the Comtec (Van Diemen) should do well.

Comtec have Charlie Donnely, Alan Kirkaldy , Oliver Jarvis, and Darwin Smith, Also I think Joey Foster will go very well , as for Kimber Smith he will be lost without Englands gearbox to follow.......?

Yeh the boy's done well. Anyone go today? Too far for me to travel so would be interested to here from anyone that went. Surprised at Hall going so well and Alx has also shown well in the Ray. Looks as though there was a bit of incident over the first couple of laps of the second race with Hall getting a DNF. Great to see grids of 30 plus cars, can't wait for next season.
Any sign of the Glebe as well for anyone that was there? |

I was there marshaling at Sears, some interseting lines coming through the corner due to the wet track. Had a visit from Mr Danielsson during the morning session. There was some good racing and I'm looking forward to the conclusion on Sunday at Brands.

Racing was good given the conditions, some usual mad F Ford driving IE rejoining the track before the bomb hole after going straight on at the end of the main straight right in front of other cars, some near ones there, naughty naughty !!!!!! nutters !! Matt howsen and Allison drove strong races, Chris Rogers went well up to forth in both races for a few laps before coming to grief a few times !!!
And massive grids, Brands should be fun |

This will give you the results from Sunday's races at Snetterton. On the same site you will find results of the remaining round at Brands Hatch soon after the race. |

There's currently 30 entries for Brands, which can only take a smaller grid in any case. (If anyone is planning on going, as well as the Zetec double-header there are good grids for Minis, Saloons and GTs, and a poor one for single-seaters).
The 'danger' is that next season there will be too many cars to fit on one grid, so there might be separate races for the two classes anyway I would have thought. |

i hope they can go with a combined grid so they can ensure all the drivers get doubleheader rounds. If there was 20 seniors and 10 juniors id agree they need to be seperate, but it seems abut 50-50 right now so I dont see the Junior guys getting bungled out

There was some really spectacular action at Snetterton this weekend! Lots of interesting new drivers to evaluate and also a few new teams!
Great fun: Jarvis made a horrendous start from pole in the second race and since there was a red flag after the first lap, he could take the restart from pole once again. In the time between, his mechanic pretended to be mopping up the water in front of the tyres so Jarvis would be able to make a better start than the last one - but he didn´t! |

JATO is apparently a team set up around ex-karter James Harris as a customer team to Ray. Dont know why Alx is driving there but believe it is to give the team "a good look" when attracting drivers for next year. Have no idea what JATO is short for, though.
Looks nice, the ray. And indeed, a good drive by Alx, but also by James, I would say. Did you also notice Sukh Sander, who had to start from the pitlane or something? He finished 16th or something of 35 cars, not to bad either. And poor mr Aki Sandberg I believe it was, who crashed massively with his van diemen. the entire left corner was just gone, and front left corner plus complete sidepod was just smashed completely... They have a lot of work to do to get the car ready for Brands... |

I think one of the reasons the Rays went so well is down to their engine builder. They are using engines built by Tommy Field, I will be interested to see how quick they are in the dry! When we changed to one of his engines we found 4mph on most of the straights at UK circuits. This is not meant to be an advert for the company but having used his engines for a few seasons I cannot fault the company and I know other drivers who have tested the engines in a works car would have liked to run them but due to existing agreements were unable to swap.
