1. tidy your room. yes, you. it's an absolute tip.
2. watch all the races over again. if you're really bored, check out each drivers lines into corners, and compare american oval trained drivers with european road specialists. 3. watch syncronised swimming. there's plenty on eurosport. 4. read all your old motorsports magazines. feel smug as you know what happened to juan montoya after the 1997 f3 championship. and learn some interesting facts. 5. sleep all the way through it. 6. watch a bit of nascar. while other forums may say it's the scum of the earth, i say watch it and remember why you love cart. also, watch a tape of f1. and you thought we'd lost overtaking.... 7. watch the wimbledon finals. great fun. watch for the mad englishmen, and the ever-present chance of a streaker (yeah right anna kournikova wasn't looking.....) 8. write your life story. 9. post lots on this forum. who needs a race anyway when you've got lively and entertaining discussion? 10. join in the party in the gravel trap. it's celebrating.....hang on, i don't remember. the more the merrier, that's what i say. last but not least, let's have no flames. you can go to other forums to do that. this is a happy place. repect my authoritaaaahhhh any thoughts? have i missed out anything? anything to say in general about cart? yes? then why haven't you posted it!!! |

11. Keep all the promises you made to your wife during race weekends. "Honey I PROMISE I'll paint the garage NEXT weekend!"

Find new places to play and new people to play with.
I hope you internationalist hipsters don't mind me dropping by. "bella", after all is part of my family (they all disavow me, of course). CART is my life's passion...I think I might have some interesting ideas to kick in from time to time...I've been known to be prolific! |

Welcome Wallbanger.
I usually find other things to do if there is no racing on. 1. Go play some snooker with a good friend. 2. Hit one of the local tracks for some good Saturday night racing. 3. Race RC cars, well I usually do this on race weekends as well. 4. Work on RC cars for next race. |

wahey! welcome guys!! nice to see some new faces around.
racefamilyman - well then, do it! going and sitting in the pub with a friend and a pint is always a good one. specially as i don't drink beer, and my friend gets my pint just taking a drive in the countryside is good too. round us at night, you can take racing lines as much as you like (so long as you keep a watch out for headlights, and i like running commentary through my head.....'and she's won the italian grand prix! what an amazing show of driving by this, f1's first lady winner'. course, i'd run straight off to cart....'suckers!') |

Think of things you'd say to Gil de Ferran if you got the chance.
Plan your next vacation. See how many tracks you can visit on one trip. Make a collage with all your old racing tickets. Wonder why they put "Motor Racing is Dangerous" on the tickets... we aren't the ones risking our lives, after all. Do your housework. Sort your Le Mans photos and try to remember where you were standing when you took those pictures. Try to remember why you have seventeen photos of WRs. Put new batteries in everything. Look for some more races to go to. |

I think KC hit on something w/ his #2 above. At least in North America, there is really no such thing as a weekend without racing if you care to look in your own community.
It doesnt have to be F1 or CART to be good. Welcome back Liz, where ya been? |

Thanks Neil - been to Snetterton to the BTCC race. When flying is so cheap it's a sin to stay home!
