Eurointernational Return to Champ 2006 (2 cars)
http://www.autosport-atlas.com/news.aspx?id=46254&s=7
World Series by Renault squad Eurointernational will return to the Champ Car World Series after more than a decade's absence, the team has confirmed to Autosport-Atlas..... ........The move is expected to be confirmed at this weekend's Denver race and Ferrari has pledged he will remain in the sport until at least 2009. That is the final year of guaranteed stability on technical regulations that are scheduled to be introduced in 2007........... Fantastic news to see a new team coming and with at least one driver siged up and a schedule almost 100% (is it yet?) as a series we are really back on track. So glad after a few years of hardship. I hope this inspires other teams and sponsors. It's always a rolling thing, more teams sign up = gives sponsors confidence but how to sign up without a sponser. |

Very good news, this.
One car is definite, two likely. Excellent stuff. |

Great news. Good points about the ball rolling forward. We've seen lots of steady small steps in the right direction this season.
I don't mean to be negative, but if they couldn't get the finances together to run Formula Pan-Am, what makes them think that they can afford Champ Car? |

It's easier to find the cash for a high-profile series, which is televised live across Europe (ChampCar) than one which doesn't exist and was always a pipe-dream (Pan Am).

Precisely KB. This would be great news, as they have a pedigree of running reasonably good cars, and Toccacello surprised a lot of people with his form in F3000 last year, so could be a good addition to the championship, especially as Italians have been popular before.

I read that Toccacello had a budget but now I see he has been confirmed as the third driver at Minardi. Will that change where he ends up next year?

I would say that is a good sign - it means he definately has the budget.

No matter who is the driver, and I do hope that it will be Toccacello, this is great news to have a new team come on board for the future!

I think the fact that so many teams have also jumped on the new Atlantic formula, is also a very good sign but this is great news.

Was that the team run by Ferrari? Or was that someone else?
Was Montermini the guy who came in the middle of a season and finished 3rd behind Mansell and Fittipaldi in his first race? |

I guess Antonio has a few drivers with some money. I always knew he would be back, he always said that was his ultimate goal was to be back in Champcars. I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up next year with some fast Brazilian no one ever heard of stateside and maybe some Italian F3000 driver like Del Monte.

Apparantly he somehow has found some drivers with money and tied them up to his team. Very good job, 'cause if i was a driver with money and i wanted to go to cart i'd give mr. forsythe or mr. kalkhoven a call and bought a spot at their team. And if that wasn't possible a spot at another team (apart from coyne), cause i'd want to be with an xperienced team. Maybe some cc-team owners should talk to ferrari how he managed to find these drivers. ;-) |

This could be an opportunity for someone like Verstappen or Kiesa to move over with their budgets to ChampCars. It's early to be confirming 2006 participation, and deals announced this early can be the most vulnerable, but it's certainly great news that they are looking to get a team out there for next year.
