Bit surprising that the race thread was created only on Thursday! Quite an unusual silence on the BTCC here, had to double check if the round really is this weekend. But anyway, quite excited for that one!

Believe last year it was a BMW 1-2-3 in qualifying, and then they fell back on a damp race day.

22 MINI JCWs - same field as Donington, minus Sam Smith (get well soon)

20 F4s - largely the same grid as Donington. No Noah Lisle (currently P2 in championship, racing in Spanish F4), Sonny Smith appears to have switched from Argenti to JHR.

25 PCCGB - same grid as Donington

Brands Indy is one track I really struggle to be enthusiastic about, it’s too short for the amount of cars on the grid. This will be one I record and watch back.

I'm actually away from home this weekend so am hoping that the new YouTube channel allows me to watch qualifying & the races after the event at my leisure. (There's no point in me recording the live TV coverage, by the time I get home I'll have learned the results anyway!)

I'll have to have a look at the YouTube channel - I watched Donington on ITVX and I'd rather not have to go through that experience again.

It's only qualifying on YouTube. Normal YT livestream type thing, so you can re-watch the whole thing later.

Races are on ITVX. If you have the option to record at home I'd suggest doing that. FFWD/Rewind on ITVX just moves the time slider without updating the picture so you've no idea when to go back to normal play mode.

Dan Zelos will be in the team's space car with a temporary black/white livery.

John Mickel is on the Legends entry but won't be racing. He had a big accident at Cadwell last month and is still under the MSUK enforced medical timeout. Jack Parker will drive the car instead.

I wonder if ITV are not going to chop up the live coverage and post it on their 'Races' page of the BTCC section this year? Donington hasn't been posted yet, and they usually have them uploaded within a day or 2.

Yes, I noticed that too that there was no videos on the website the day after Donington

All that shows up is the 7hr 45 min programme - not the individual races.

It's good that the whole days worth of coverage is available - but ITVX is appallingly bad. It refused to remember where I'd got up to so started the coverage over again every time I went back to it, when you're fast forwarding through the picture doesn't update so you have to go by the elapsed time at the bottom. You also have to sit through adverts when it first loads - and then because it didn't remember where you were and you have to fast forward it immediately shows you adverts again when you hit play. It's a very poorly implemeted interface.

It is much better having the option of the races split out, don't then have to sit through need-less amounts of adverts while trying to find the right bit you want to watch

Exactly, trying to find the right points in the video to watch individual races, with all the ads in the meantime is just a disaster. That's why I'm not watching replays when I cannot catch it live...
