Tracks under reconstruction

What tracks are currently under (major) reconstruction.

I've been thinking and came to the conclusion there are quite some changes mentioned.

For example: Le Mans, Assen, Hockenheim, Nurburgring...any others?

Monza paddock is being redone which has mucked with some of the calendars...
Assen, I bl**dy well hope so, when I raced there last year there were spectator areas taped off because it was too easy for the cars to get in there!!!

problem is that Assen is officially a moto gp circuit and not an autosport circuit. You must remember the last S before the finish straight...when u **** up there it's only a few meters before you crash into the main stands.

I remember that from a Citroen Saxo race where a car rolled over and landed just 20 cm before the fence and you could almost touch the car from behind the fences. Tho F3000 had no problem there

Interesting, can't tell much from those pics. I hope their improvements are as good as the ones Sachsenring did.

Not a hugely different layout. It looks pretty good.

On the subject of Silverstone, isn't it being modified for the 2003 race? I know alot of people are against the new layout, but I quite like it, one thing I don't like is the proposed changes to Donington.

Donington needs to be chaged to get rid of the Melbourne hairpin. As for Silverstone, they are just going to demolish the current pits and rebuild them.

As for the track layout, I think its staying as it is.

The reconstruction of Assen was dealt a small blow when the asphalt that was put in on March 19 was taken out last week because the quality was bad. Next weekend they will resurface parts of the track and hope to be ready in time for the opening races of the season. As far as I know there was a historical car meeting next weekend but dunno if that is off. At the moment the DTCC race is safe. The Dutch TT and the Superbike races are safe since they will take place in a few months

As far as I am aware the current Silverstone pitlane is not going to be demolished. What is going to happen, is that on either the Hanger straight or the run up to Abbey a new F1 only pit complex is going to be built. There is also a major track remodeling.

As for the Melbourne harpin at Donington, what is wrong with it?

I believe that plan has been scrapped and the current pitlane will be improved instead ?

As for Donington, it's great as it is thank you very much! If they're gonna change the hairpin, can we have the old Melbourne Hairpin back please ? That looked simply awesome!

Has any work been done at the Rockingham Oval during the winter to cure the problems of weepers which bedeviled last year's CART weekend?
