Probably good a time to lock this post.
Let’s give the bloke some support, obviously some things going on in the background. |

You mean he couldn't call a cab? No real issue with the drinking to the point of stupidity, people make dumb choices all the time, not going to crucify them. If he has personal issues that led him into this situation, he needs to address that pdq. But someone in his position can't afford to compound matters by getting sloshed AND then driving home. That is unacceptable who ever is involved, but a very bad look for his employer and given who they are they need to act firmly to show that they do not condone such behaviour. |

Should be out of a job. There is no place for drinking and driving anywhere in society but when you're the main man for a sport that has actively campaigned against it there is no excuse.
Don't know what the rules are over there but in the UK if you lose your road license you lose your race license and hence your drive. Same principle should apply to the officials of the series as well IMO. Might have had a tough time but that's still no excuse to put others at risk of going through the same emotions. |

His job position is untenable, never mind any societal view.

There is a breathalyser program that happens at motorsport events for drivers and officials, but this is not something related in any way to that program.

More embarrassing than anything else. Noticed from the Bathurst broadcast that he was rather absent. Normally you catch him in the background at some point looking at a broken car, or observing a pit stop. Might have got benched for a few weeks, or did well to avoid attention??

Sorry but as his public position is around cars and driving, he has to show leadership in his words and actions.
Everyone knows DUI is a dangerous crime that puts your life, and those of other people at risk. He willingly did this. He would have known better. He cant stand up publicly for all that is good about life on 2/4 wheels then do this Commit the crime.. do the time. |

Did it need to be?
Seems like a private matter. |

I would be on board with that if something catastrophic happened.
Thankfully, nothing did. |

I agree he was stupid and should know better.
However what punishment outside whatever is imposed by the court system do the “Commit the crime.Do the time” people here want? Does everyone who is caught DUI lose their job if having a driving licence is not a requirement of that job? Supercars office holders have never been required to be public role models. At least one got into a serious brawl in a Texas night club and might have been lucky not to be locked up over there. |

AB is a senior member of the SC administration. It is not acceptable to the public that no action be taken in these circumstances. It should also be unacceptable to MA, are they not the sanctioning body? |

Skating close to a witch hunt there, friend.
He's not on the Supercars board of directors. Merely an employee. |

He did the crime, now he is serving the time. Fortunately our society allows for redemption, so unless there is a reoccurrence, then we should let the matter lie.
