Súbanse a la Franconeta / Colapineta
(Just to be clear, the Scaloneta is the hype train for Argentine national football team coach Lionel Scaloni.)
Franco Colapinto is the first Argentine driver to score points in F1 since Carlos Reutemann in 1982. And let me tell you that Argentines are crazy for him (even more than usual I mean). He has had great results in his spell at Williams. But can he get a full-time ride for 2025 Sauber / Audi already hired Nico Hülkenberg, who is German and experienced. I think that Colapinto would be an excellent partner. |

Meanwhile, Colapinto was a guest at the Spanish talk show El Hormiguero, and he was insanely funny.

not just hoping to see him return full time in 2025 and on but also a return of the Argentinian GP!
i imagine a lot of talk and effort going on behind the scenes now that there is a home town favorite to help build a bid around? |

It's great for Argentinians to have one of theirs to get excited about again - certainly makes a difference for us here in Oz to have had Danny and now Oscar (we might even "claim" Liam Lawson - there's a long-running joke about Aussies claiming successful New Zealanders).
Hopefully Colapinto's fans in Argentina don't get as carried away as Canapino's fans did for the Indycar driver - death threats etc. That could impact on Colapinto's career and from what we've seen so far, he's talented and would be great to see how far he can go. |

Colapinto made the show host uncomfortable ("You don't know about F1, you seem quite lost"), but in a good way. It's a talk show after all. I'm sure that the producers are delighted.
He says he was bad at parking road cars ("I only look forward"). I fast forwarded the video and found nothing about bullrings. |

When he was first signed to replace Logan, there was a lot of cynicism. He wasn't well known and his results in F2 weren't exactly spectacular. There was a feeling he was being bought in for money. Really I felt like saying Franco who? But he's proved to be an inspired choice, so let's see where he goes from here

I feel it might be too little too late. Pretty much all the seats are taken and it's gonna be hard to see where he can fit in

I’ve heard that Bottas is pretty much confirmed at Audi, just needing some final details sorting out. So that might be bad news for Franco

I wonder if Audi/Sauber are just using the potential to bring in Mick or Franco as bargaining chips in negotiations with Bottas.

I can see them keeping Bottas for his experience and continuity. The problem is they are bringing in another experienced driver in Hulk, so not sure they need Bottas that much

To prove that he deserves a place on the grid, he can do no more than to match and beat his teammate. Impressive again.

An influencer asked Colapinto about his first car. He said: "I don't have one. If you need to go somewhere, I'll rent one for you... maybe"
