What do you all do in the motorsport 'off season'?

I generally watch the V8's, F1 and MotoGP.
I'm starting to get an itch that I can't scratch, waiting for the new seasons to start.
What do all you guys do to feed your motorsport needs until the new seasons start?

We follow the NZ V8 Touring Cars (when will they get a sexy name?? ) over here, but even that is hard as TV shuts down too on motorsport.

Sharapova perhaps? Maybe even videos of past races? It's a bloody tough road, but the Supercar crews must look forward to it

I'd be at the Big Day Out, but work gets in the way of most my partying!

But yeah I have the V8 highlights running on a surround sound system all the time, so I never go too long without hearing the familiar roar...

And we try hard to get to motorsport / car related shows and events.

JDI Sorry bro. Actually I got one of those random question/poll dudes ring up about living in the Auckland area.

Most the questions were about Hubbard and the new councils effect on the greater area, In which I always answered in disagree strongly....

I then got stuck in and had a dig at the whole council, and said the morbid art-loving ******* should leave and set up in San Francisco!!!! He didn't seem too impressed......

At the end of the 10 mins he said thanks for taking part in the survey, my name is Ben and I am part of the new council, feel free to contact us if you have any problems but Im sure you dont!!!! BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP......

I think I ruffled a couple of feathers with that one!

Someone has to mate. i love those kind of surveys. Banksie must be livid at the whole situation. At least he wasn't a poodle breeding, basket weaving, muesli eater like Hubbard, Hubbard's puppet master Hucker, and Co...

Fair 'nough. You'll have to tell us what Speedway racing you've seen. Watching 24 Sprintcars, each with a 800-850 bhp, 6.5 litre alloy V8 pulling over 8500rpm, each car weighing about 590 kgs, all arriving at Turn One (on clay or dirt) three or four abreast is a great sight. Makes a Supercar race look like a funeral procession.

Still, if you like funeral processions, you probably wouldn't like Sprintcars.

R8's got a point - more overtaking in a night of Sprintcar racing than in a season of V8's. And no stupid compulsory pit stops. Although you tend to get pretty dusty

There is no off season.

By the time the Supertaxis wrap up in November, Sprintcars are in full swing, then the Dakar starts New Years Day (or sometimes even earlier, and no sooner have you shake the sand of Mautania from you boots, it's Black Ice time on the cliffs of the Riveria was the WRC heads for Monaco.

Only footballers have off seasons. Wimps.

What do I do? 1980's ATCC races that I have on tape, much more entertaining. That, and going out on Friday nights. (although, that said, I'm currently watching the 1999 FAI 1000, and, of course, World Series Sprintcars, when I don't get distracted by the cricket...).

Funny you should mention that. I had a watch of the '99 FAI 1000 a few weeks back, i don't think i'd seen it since the day i recorded it. I'd forgotten that it wasn't a bad race, especially with the lat half of the race running Pace Car free allowed a proper race to settle down.

As for the off season, old races, current motorsport (Inside Speed and Motorsport Asia have kept going)................and waiting excitedly in anticipation of another V8Supercar season

Mark Webber has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Well I can not wait I'm more F1 than anything but thw WRC kicks off very soon and F1 is in test mode(where Mark is Kicking a$$ by the way) , I do watch the taxis and look forward to a good strong year and a tight fight between Marcos and Jason Bright

But as I just brought a race car myself I've been Flatout testing and prepping the car for the state series.

Mark Webber: hate to point this out to you but if you're waiting for the WRC to begin, your too late. Today is Day 2 of the Monte.

The Citroens are running 1-2 (in the expected order) with Gronholm a minute behind with Solberg, Gardemeister & Martin a further half minute away. There is a privateer in the points.
