Steve Holmes should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Muscle Car Racing

Thought some of you folk might find this interesting. This class has just finished its first season here in New Zealand. Called Central Muscle Cars, it caters to mainly American and Australian six cylinder and V8 heavy metal from the sixties through to the mid eighties. Mustangs, Camaros, Monaros, Corvettes etc.

There are two groups in the class. Group 1 caters to cars with slicks, and some limited aerodynamic freedoms are allowed, while Group 2 is more restricted, with the cars running treaded tyres, and factory standard or factory option spoliers.

The class has quickly gain a real following, and plenty of new cars are to appear next season. Check it out: www.centralmusclecars.co.nz

Fantastic, bring back real cars!
Now that C.O.M.E. has continued with the prod. and mod. of the genuine Holden V-8, I hope at least some of the Holden cars have a real Aussie V-8.

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback. Its a great class, the cars are amazing! Paul Kirwans big block Group 1 Camaro laps Pukekohe only slightly slower than the V8 Supercars when they visit! And he's running leaf springs in the rear!

But most importantly, what really makes the class, are the great people involved. That's the most important aspect of any class. Everyone helps each other out, are competitive on the track, and good mates off it.

mickj, to answer your question, Cams Chevy Coupe actually has an HQ Holden chassis under that body, I believe. The car doesn't actually fit the regs, in fact, it doesn't even come close, but Cam runs for fun, and for no points. He's been a big supporter of the class right from the outset.

New cars currently being built are two 69 Mustangs, one of which is a genuine Boss, a Commodore, and a 68 big block Camaro, which will run Group 2, complete with 8" wide minilights on treaded tyres! Plus several other cars will also appear next season. The website will have plenty of details.
