Team Ausi & Aussie Vineyard
An interesting article: http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/s...012789,00.html
The city ran out of Gore's Aussie Vineyards labelled wines. "We sold out. Our wines were in nine casinos and 185 7 Elevens and 180 retail outlets in the Nevada area and they ran dry," Gore said. "35,000 cases, which I believe is the largest order ever to leave Queensland shores is now making its way to the US." I have to be honest I have always thought that the whole Aussie Vineyards marketing strategy was, well .... stupid. It's sounds like it's pretty viable. Granted I don't know the full extent of what else they've done, but it sounds like their market entry into Nevada had something to do with the race. I know a lot of people are thinking "I don't care." It matters because it's showing some rather startling possibilities for potential sponsors. That means better funded teams which means more stability, competitiveness and drivers who might get paid (meaning attraction to good drivers). You know sounds pretty familiar to the situation that resulted in CDW coming on board with RuSport and Wilson. |

Very good news for the championship and for the Aussie Vinyards bottom line.
Also an interesting comment from the artilce was this 'Fresh sponsorship deals for the Derrick Walker-run Champ Car team will be announced in the near future.' Last edited by D.R.T.; 13 Apr 2007 at 02:58. |

you know, I've been looking for Aussie Vineyards wines and wherever i go people look at me like I'm crazy or something. Is the Aussie Vineyards just a collective name for all the Australian wineries, or a specific one?

Based on conversations with people in the alcohol distribution business in the USA and what I know about the australian wine business is that australian wine distribution to the USA is a mess. Recalling an article from 2005 in Motor Racing Australia, what Gore was attempting to do with "Aussie Vineyards" was to bring all these small labels under one roof, one marketing campaign and one distribution channel to the USA and eventually beyond.

I think Aussie Vineyards is the brand name of the wines, but they haven't had US distribution until recently. I had read a article maybe a month ago that indicated zero imports thus far. In fact, I didn't know that they had successfully acheived any distribution until I read that article.

As I understand it, Aussie Vineyards is like Vincor, one company that controls numerous Canadian wine brands. None of the Aussie products are available yet through LCBO.

I see Aussie wines all over (at big lots too!) the price is low but I think the quality is quite good....Yellow Tail, SHIRAZ. was a very pleasant surprise.
I don't know who is the importer but they seem to be a good value. |

Yellow Tail, Banrock Station are not part of the "Aussie Vineyards" portfolio.
I just checked out the Aussie Vineyards website, substatially slimmed down from last year, only showing 3 wines, all under "Au" label. They had 3 labels (Barossa Valley, Limestone Coast, Coonawarra) with several wines each showing last year. Last edited by icemachine; 13 Apr 2007 at 14:35. |

Apparently, Tagliani has also done a deal to have it distributed in Quebec.
