Chesson to Cheever???
Today's Indy Star reports that Eddie Cheever has confirmed that he is trying to work a deal to get PJ Chesson into a 2nd car for Richmond in 2 weeks.
The news item also indcated that Cheever will continue to race this season in the primary team car... I guess the deal with Panther didn't work out...Let's see what happens over the next week or so.... |

its a shame Hemelgarn has shut but teams like that can't compete in the IRL anymore and the 500 performance cost them dear good luck to PJ anyway |

the problem with manning, carpentier, and barron is that they don't bring any funding.
Carpentier is a talented driver, but he seems resigned to sit at home and wait for the phone to ring. He said he had several offers to drive in the "500" but none included any guaranteed money. He turned down all of them because in his words "I'm too old to be driving for free". |

A bit OT, but Chris Festa got his rookie test yesterday with Cjeever, he could be in a car too by next year

Cheever is wasting a car by putting himself in it, ultimately. If he can race himself without funding, surely he could put one of the guys snips mentions in one car and Chesson in a second.
