2017 Rolex 24
Just squared away everything for next years Rolex.
Flying in Thursday morning, flying out Monday morning. Hotel Sunday night for a nice sleep and shower, and renting a minivan again to camp in the T4 infield. Copious amounts of cheap brews will be consumed, including the Midnight Ferris Wheel ride while Intoxicated, a yearly tradition. |

I am getting in Friday mid day and will go
straight to the ticket office. Might as well run through the museum while I am there. Then I will figure out where to park in front of the stadium near Nascar 1 for Sat. morning when it opens at 9 a.m. after doing Fri. nite in the hotel. Still planning to do a stadium only race. I will go to the grid walk though and get up close photos of the new phillies before the green flag drops. Then back to the stadium when they scream down to the start in all kinds of furious anger. I will be down near the entrance and exits of the infield portion of the track in front of the big tv screen. A yellow poncho will be covering my gear. I still have not decided on where to nap in the night. I need about 4 hours to function. Jim Clark says to go get card board from vending and lay on those. I think I have a rolled up foam matte somewhere and might try with just a blanket and plastic tarp. Probably need to wait and see what the weather will be before making any decisions. Trying to figure out a small portable power pack to keep the laptop charged if any one has any ideas. I just need enough power to give it 3 charges. I hope these 2 months go by fast! |

Sorry for you fellas at the circuit. Looks like miserable conditions but it at least leads to some on track action!
