No more Racing for Holland...
Allthough there have not yet been any officiall announcements, but since both Jan Lammers and Jeroen Bleekemolen are into deep negotiations with the newly formed Porsche RS Spyder teams,it is sadly safe to say we'll be missing one of the most intriguing sportscarteams of the last decade...

indeed... But it was a gonner from the start of this season.
I still think Jan Lammers is up there with the best. it's a shame he will be driving in an LMP2 car... (no offence) But, then again, I'll keep on going to the 24hrs Du Mans as ever. Just Love it! |

Well, one thing is good to know,if he gets behind the wheel of one of these Spyders he'll surelly drive the wheels of the thing! His teammate of the '88 Jag victory,Andy Wallace, achieved an admirable win in LMP2 with the RML Lola at Le Mans. |

Hate to see this. I wish they could have made it across the pond for Sebring.

Indeed, they had a plan for '07 to do Road Atlanta. But Nürburgring was the last time we saw Jan driving "his own" car

Pity about RfH, maybe we'll still see them around. Well you are right: don't count Kox out

Aaaah,Peter Kox in the Reiter Lambo at Le Mans in the upcomming year, mmmm.
I hope that Merkesteijn racing will aknowledge the value of Jeroen Bleekemolen for he really is a rising star in sportscars at the moment. |

It's a shame, as I have a lot of time for Jan Lammers, but, to be honest, RfH underperformed. The Dome never lived up to the promise which the flashes of speed offered, and the tangible results were disappointingly meagre. Sure, Jan was unfortunate enough to launch his own prototype team in the middle of the Audi era; but it was still a bit of a shame.

I'm actually quite hopeful that we may see RFH back at some point in the future. I know Jan looked into the possibility of purchasing a new P1 chassis for 2008 so the desire to continue in ACO regs racing is unquestionably still there, and under the RFH banner.
Fingers crossed that he can put together a RFH programme for 2009! |

The problem here is the funding. Jan has publicly admitted that RfH only had losses the last years. This year's car was owned by Dome and the rest of the funding came from David Hart (including Bleekemolen's contract). Without a serious cash injection, tough to get from the big Dutch companies that look mostly at F-1 and completely ignore the LMS, not much can happen. Only a significant change of business strategy would help, enabling RfH to get a competitive package like a Lola, Zytek, etc. Dome has not considered them for this new coupe (remember 2006?) so the best option should be a new tub imho. Dome is another unfulfilled prophecy for almost a decade now. Competitive? Sure Results? Very meager (except when there was very scarce competition like in 2003).

Loosing RfH is one thing, but now I read at planetlemans that Jan Lammers is most likely not doing Le Mans this year?! Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's nothing in this article that sugests an entrance of the Horag team in the Big race...

Jan is in talks for a Le Mans drive. As Bentley rightfully states, Horag said from day 1 with the Spyder that they would not be doing the big one.
