The implication is that up to four went into FB but I can only see the McMillan car in 1965, Bob Parker (Portland, OR) and William Kneeland (New England) with FB Lotus 32s in 1967 and Bill Rutan with a FC one in 1968.
I omitted Peter Sadler's 1600cc Ford version in UK libre in 1965. And Peter Studer now has one in historics. |

Allen,
I think you will find that the 2 Australian cars are FL , i.e. 32-FL-7 and 32=FL-8. Leo's certainly was as I recovered the chassis plate about 20 years ago from a previous owner who had it glued to his bar fridge. Bryan. |

You're quite right Bryan - it was a cutting-and-pasting mistake

32-1: 1967 Brian Jordan, then 1969 maybe John Gillmeister. MN 23.1.69 p. 5 says ex Clark 1964
32-4: Later in 66 to Harry Stiller 32-6?: Maglia selling a 32 AS 6.1.67 Parker keeps his FB car into 1968 Chris |

This is useful: Autosport 11 Sep 1964 p399 says that David Prophet "now has two F2 Brabhams having swapped his Lotus 32 for Frenchman Jacques Maglia's Brabham".

Were there two Tasman 32s?
If so, why does everyone describe the ex-Dawson Damer 32B as unique? Which is the extremely original 32 Tasman car that is in the States. Still as bought by its British owner when only a couple of years old, and taken with him when he emigrated? |

Peter,
There were/are two only Lotus 32 cars in Australia, Leo Geoghegan's 1.5 Ford Twin cam car new to Leo as the Lotus Distributor in Australia , and the 32B Team Lotus car of Jim Clark with 2.5 Climax FPF. No other Lotus car of the 32 series ever competed over here at any time. I believe you car you are talking about is owned by John Dimmer , and stand corrected but believe that is actually a Lotus 35 . Bryan Miller. |

Peter,
The Geoghegan car , last heard of sold to Switzerland / somewhere close to there about 10 years ago after a massive restoration by Harry Galloway [ ex Lotus / Surtees /Ralt master fabricator] , have never heard of it again. I am afraid I don't have any info on a John Arnold. Bryan. |

I'm trying to find out more about the car I heard about, but suspect it will take some time. I've got a few contacts in Switzerland, will see if I can find out anything about the Geoghegan car, but there are a few secretive collectors there so it might be very low profile. Peter |

The car is white with red and blue horizontal side stripes. The following photo was found on another thread on Ten-tenths (Brands Masters Historic Festival in Historic Racing Today). (http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...=106718&page=7 ) http://www.snappyracers.com/album/Br.../IMG_6040.html |

Lotus 32
My son has just found and referred me to your web site, as a 32 owner, I have just registered to make contact with you all that are interested in Lotus 32 F2 cars. Mine is apparently one of the Ron Harris cars. I bought it from John Fenning in 1966 as an Ex. Team lotus car. John was one of Colin Chapman drivers of the day and apparently selling off old cars was their way of getting payment. I have a modest collection of old racing cars here in Denver, mostly Lotus. The 32 is now back to the original 1964 F2 specification with a SCA engine and Mk4 Hewland. I had raced it in the UK (and here) with a MAE engine in the 750 club events in the late 60's. There is another 32 F2 car in the UK and that is Larry Kinchs' he say his is chassis number 1, I have seen it but it does not have any numbers stamped in the monocoque in the same place as mine, he re-imported it from the US about 2 years ago. As a general note I am an Ex/Pat Brit. and we have been away from the UK since 1973, but frequent visitors as my son now lives and works in London. You can see the car in the Lotus Book by William Taylor, this is before its last restoration, are there any any photos of any of the other cars posted anywhere? I could send in some some of mine if you do. I will look forward to hearing from the group.
John. |
