A 1.5 mini circuit.
Lets say we have a challenge to make a circuit within a "small" perimeter, I tried to the most to keep safe distances and speeds within safe limits by design, and still manage to lay out 1.5 miles of track with decent ratios and configurations. Let me see if this was accomplished in this club track.
Width is 10.5 meters, length 2,309 meters, main straight is 585 meters, runs CCW and I see 12 turns. Run off areas have been reviewed and deemed safe for the predicted speeds. It's not an F1 circuit or MotoGP but more of a gathering for enthusiasts and maybe a national or regional venue for bikes, touring cars, maybe GT. Let me see your thoughts on this one. |

Hey there.
I like the overall idea and I think most of the circuit looks great, especially turns 1-7. I'm not feeling turns 9-10 though, here's what I'd change. I've broke turn 9 into 2 corners, pushing the 2nd part further north (judging from the Google earth buttons!) and then pinched in the old turn 10 slightly. I think this improves the flow of the infield section and also provides more breathing space for a slightly cramped paddock. Of course, I may be completely wrong, I don't normally like to edit other peoples work, but I couldn't describe it the way I wanted to without a sketch to help! |

Love your edit!!
Thank you for taking the time! I myself was looking hard at those corners, they certainly look a bit repetitive in my version though the actual ratios are different, so I do like your idea, it makes t8 kind of a little DA so it should spice up the infield with alternate lines and overtaking oportunities, I do like your edit Sir! What do you think about the infield distances bewtween sections? I tried to be at least 30M away in the closest parts , tho I fell short by 3 or 4 meters sometime, but I feel it was only in slow speed sections so I don't expect huge accidents on those. Measuring in at 1.503 please excuse the extra
like the above 10.5m wide And this one shows how small an area of land it could fit in Last edited by ScotsBrutesFan; 25 Nov 2013 at 23:14. |

I like the first 3 turns SBF!
My turn. Pretty much bang-on 1.5 miles, anticlockwise |

Turns out the area I am trying to design is a natural reserve and nothing can be built there , so I got advice from the same environmentalists that protested my circuit to move somewhere else, soon I will be posting drafts, the site is 530 x 380 meters for the most part so again a 1.5-1.7 mile is all that fits without being a mongo karting track.

Some sketches on the new site, There's a whole lot of crap in the site that needs to be flattened out and theres 6 meters of elevation delta within the area.

Just some mores ideas before I start any kind of sketchup, this one comes out at 1.8 something miles...all the distances between lanes are 40 meter min except on a couple of slow speed areas where lanes might be at a min of 30 meters. I kind of like the idea of the oposing hairpins with reversed config, one of them is an increasing rad and the other a decreasing rad, forcing the pilots to come up with different strategies of attack. Some of the corners are faily high speed and fot the small terrain I kind of like that it's not that cramped, IMHO, looks flowy to me. In this design I barely touch the existing structures so it has more possibilities. Still some stuff at the end of the straight need to go
Second attempt comes out at 1.54 but the straights are quite short < I made that one without destroying anything at all of the structures around, the less we mess around with people, the closer to getting it done, so compromises had to be done....I'm trying not to touch the center part because equestrian enthusiasts use that area for their practices. Another shot at the site, 1.5 miles, "straight" is "Barber Spec" 350 m but coming from a kink we should get to at least 4th ot 5th gear before a hard braking T1, which I'm not really too fond of ,but I had no choice...the infield it's somewhat tight, almost karting track tight but 25 meters have been observed between adjacent lanes in slow speed areas. Counter Clock wise as all of them are.

The smallest of the designs, this is kind of a club track, 1.5M counterclockwise, it's not Mugelo-sized and it's not intended to be, but rather an economical weekend warrior playground, just what we need in my neck of the woods...

This circuit reminds me a lot of the one that used to be in Puerto Rico by 1962 when Puerto Rico hosted a big time event that featured the stars of the era, Roger Pensky and all, it was located in Caguas and it was buried under housing projects in the mid 80's

How do you like these? An 1.8 mile CCW, the rest you can pretty much see is, 430 M is the main straight...

Here's the challenge, fellow imaginary tracks designers, build a ~1.5 miles track in this area. For reference, the line parallel to the road is 538mt long. All those structures you see there are to be demolished.
Please have enough run off in required places and space for a club like paddock and facilities, maybe a few grandstands and parking. |

This is pretty cramped!
This is 1.44 miles, with a big banked first turn and parking joining to the road joining on to the main highway. |

I like it!!! Thank you for taking the time for this awesome job!!!
I think T1 for the radius it has , I would add a little more run off but it doesn't take even 1 cent of the awesomeness of the track! The banking will sure help a lot avoiding accidents! |

I think there's room for an alternate chicane for motorcycles, totally solving the problem
