About the comments over the weekend? C10 were very critical of the treatment of the Pukehohoe telecast & cutting of the race

I doubt it. I saw a story on Sports Tonight but there was one on nine too.

And anyway, what are they going to sue everyone for, telling the truth?? Mind you, avesco dont like the truth a lot of time anyway.

Seems they have blamed everyone except themselves.

How many free to air games are there in town?

At last count... 5... yet only 3 commercial.

So lets piddle off one of the three shall we, to categorically guarantee they wont go there again!! Or indeed receive favourable (any??) coverage on news bulletins..

I think VE$A are playing a dangerous game.

I wonder when they will sue me for speaking out.

Well there was a column in the courier mail today with VE$A taking the responsibility for cutting the race short (absolving C7) "...we thought it was more important to telivise the podium ceremony...due to long safety car periods...we will have extra training for recovery crews..." (para-phrasing, memory and spelling not the best!).

Who on gods little green earth would prefer to see the podium ceromony over racing (or should I say cars going around)?!?!?!?

Why would VESA carry the can willingly ?

why would 7 cop flak when it is not to blame - see this forum, fans of the sport.

Could it be that Channel 7 were upset that they had to cop some of the flack given the footage is produced by VESA. Channel 7 ring up the Black Wiggle, crack the sads. VESA is forced to carry the blame and is not happy about it.

VESA being the grumpy little boy that he is, doesnt like it when daddy (who pays all his bills for him) tells him off. So how VESA goes to school, and wants to bash up that bully in the playground, (that naughty Channel 10) for dobbing them in.

One lesson learnt in life. Never burn bridges, because you may need to cross them again someday.

Ch7 were taking legal action against Ch10 and the AFL while also negotiating with them to obtain the TV rights. The matter was eventually dropped but its a pretty clear indication that nothing gets in the way if money is to be made.

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
its great to be able to speculate and make up total BS, but what amuses me most is that people take the bS and run with it and analyse it it

The legal actions has nothing to do with the last round or any subsequant media report.

It is related to channel 10's previons contract with V8SA (prev AVESCO) and how that finished up

Good of TC to tell us that legal action was pending. Good of him to tell us why.

Yeah, thats what is odd about it and what lead to all the discussion and analysis Pecky, crazy I know.

VESA's comments amounted to telling the public something without actually telling them anything.

because he was asked.

He didnt put out a press release, he was aksed by the media and he replied ther was some action pending. As this is a legal matter and these things often get settled out of court the there is no need to go into detail. that will come out in court if required
