A bit late but just a couple of batches from last Sunday at Cadwell. The 'Trials' photos (cars & bikes) are because they put on a demo in the woods near The Mountain bottom - seemed quite popular with spectators as it was something that many of them don't normally watch I suspect.
Very good crowd given that many people were at the Sillystone concrete jungle that weekend watching a few modern classics apparently. |

Second batch.
The coming together at Chris Curve could have been nasty - I thought the Aston Martin Ulster was going to get rolled over at one point. But both survived with light damage I think, the drivers got out unharmed, seemed to share a laugh and drove back to the paddock unaided at the end of the race. There had been four or five cars jostling for position (some out of shot) and I think it just got a bit narrow for them. Just noticed it out of the corner of my eye, turned round and managed to get a short sequence of shots. |

Great shots as always Gary.
It's interesting to see Cadwell so parched. I can't recall anything but green before. |

Did the Aston and Bentley escape unscathed?
Ignore this post! Failed to read copy above photos. |

No problem. The cars just stayed upright, the drivers got out and appeared to check that each other was okay - no finger pointing or anything. The race finished a lap or two later and I think they just had a tug at some of the bodywork to make sure it wasn't catching on the tyres - then drove back to the paddock with a wave to the attending marshals. All very casual from what could have been a bit nasty.

Thanks Grant. I might do one or two more VSCC events this year but then thinking of calling it a day for motorsports photography other than the occasional Trial. These could be collector's items one day!

Indeed! VSCC at Mallory Park on 11th August? Unless they have suddenly erected a lot of fences in the past couple of months it would be a great place for a swansong photographic outing. Especially good for VSCC. |
