Will they (TWR\HRT\HSV\TOLL) be grouped
Finally we must be at a point where these 4 cars will be grouped for testing. With Tom taking back over HRT and owning HSV this must now be a conflict of interest similar to the Bright\FPR\Britek senario. Interested to see what everyone thinks. Tega surely cant overlook this anymore.

There won't be an issue. Their franchises are seperately owned still I believe, that is how they will get around it.

Britek and FPR's franchises are seperately owned but they are grouped because of Brights conflicting interests (ala Tom Walkinshaw) and they dont even share the same premises like HRT / Whoever they are.

no teams can test at Calder as Calder isnt an approved test track. James63 whoever they are beat HRT on a regular basis in 2005 once Tom got involved mid season this is why grouping is needed to stop the unfair advantage.

ok well heres my idea. Britek nominate QLD as there test track. FPR nominate PI. there test tracks are in different states. so surely that proved independance.

The rules say you can only test in your home state unless you live on a border (ala BJR) anyway why would that make a difference it is more of an advantage if you tested at seperate tracks.

The 4 cars in the HRT & HSVDT squads are prepared a few feet away from each other on the same premises. Different garages, but as close as 2 garages in any pitlane you like..... This would be the textbook case for 'grouping' if there ever was one... presuming the Kelvinmonster could actually prove the links beyond the usual Holden tapdancing... FPR & Britek are such a threat to need grouping too |

At least Britek can show that they operate from different premises, have a different engine supplier, are responsible for their own chassis setups and car preparations and developments.
HSVDT buy ex-HRT cars built by Dencar..... using HMS engines supplied by TWR, just like HRT. The proximity is too close again.... the Kelvinmonster should go a-hunting.... |

GTR its not the point if you are a threat or not Perkins / Toll and RNR where grouped this year also for reasons i assume would be as obvious as the clayton squad. Driving past clayton recently i noticed a new building up HSV end could this be the new race workshop that has been talked about in the past if so this would seal the grouping if they actually move under the same exact roof.

Dont forget our HMS-supplied friends out at Dandenong either... word from the wicked has the same kind of parts and accessories and chassis arriving out that way from the same place the other two source theirs...
Curious to see if the Perkins engine deal continues also..... |

I wouldnt class them as potential for grouping i think they showed they wanted to be on their own by moving to Dandenong although they do still get everything but engines from Clayton!!

This whole thing is an absolute joke. If FPR and Britek are grouped so should HRT / HSVDT.

Who decides which track is a nominated test track, if they "the teams" decide to test at Calder than can they really be stopped?

In theory a team could nominate the local supermarket carpark, but unless it has a CAMS approval, it isnt happening.... |

Well PWR should really build their own then.. It can't be that hard, even if they were to perhaps be about as competitive as DJR & continue for the next few years repeating strong top 15 in the championship that's not so bad at all.
So quite a case shut argument, if Britek are grouped so should HSVDT. And having no test days for HSVDT isn't so bad, they will be allowed to freely share data at race meetings, that's got to be worth something right? |
