Just saw that. Awesome news. And they dropped the 3 lowest scoring events this year, so very well done Lydden!
How has Portugal stayed though...? |

Big question mark is how the spectators will take it. The jokerlap is confusing enough as it is, but in Valkenswaard you can never see more than 50% of the track. If you can't see who jokered, well....? We'll see. At least I got my home-round back. |

Brilliant news, can't wait!
Out of interest does anyone know if there are plans for further work on the Lydden circuit (spectator areas, pits/paddock etc.), or is that it now? |

I heard from Mrs Doran in Belgium that there are plans afoot for a bigger and better commentator box on the startline, planning issues aside. So maybe that will be done in time for Easter.
So many events to go to next year, bring on ERC 2011! |

Great news again for Lydden and for British rallycross!
On joker laps: has anyone done any research as to whether drivers and fans welcome them? Most people I seem to speak to can't stand them. They haven't stopped deliberate contact or dirty driving and they confuse newcomers who just want to see a race. Why not just widen or put extra banking into key turns? Or longer straights that mean if you take a defensive line into the first corner, you are compromised going into the next? Or maybe even add an additional lap to races to reduce the 'first corner factor'? |

Some discussion on here a while back about how they (FIA Off Road, maybe??) make the list. "They" basically rate each track out of 10 on a host of different criteria, even down to how prominantly the nations' Flags are waving, I think! I list of the criteria was published on here a while back.
Anyway then each country gets ranked. I don't have the list, but it is out there somewhere as the LHMC e-mail stated that Lydden actually came 3rd last year (7th the year before) so that is a massive improvement and achievement. Am sure that RX-Guru will be along soon to provide a list/more detailed reply. |

In 2009 the system was a bit more easy for me. However, at the moment I only got the results of the ERPA reports about the press work of the ten 2010 ERC organisers. Officially "they" are the FIA observers and the Stewards of the meetings and the current one who takes care of the whole thing is one of the members of the FIA Off-Road Commission (but not its President AL).
PS: According to a Swedish source Sweden won by 74% from Poland 67% and Great Britain 65% this year… Last edited by rx-guru; 7 Oct 2010 at 14:08. |

Ha, there's even a shot of Hickey (no.3) and Paul the paramedic in there, but congrats on the tramp-like fist shake, Dave! Good video that.

God only knows why they keep going to Montalegre, they would get just as big a crowd at Lousada and its a much, much better track.
I can understand a one year on and off deal but three years at that place that cuts up like a snow covered field!! Jesus the commission must be getting backhannders surely!! |
