Haribo haven't been partnered with Manthey since the end of last year.

As Felbermayr are conducting tyre testing on this at the moment , I wonder might they get their hands on 1 for Le mans ?

This is incredible news. I thought we'd only see old Porsches in the GTE-Am class at Le Mans and in the WEC in 2013, but not now! Great news! And what a set of drivers... set to win the GTE-Pro championship, I'd say.

That seems weird given the announcement about Manthey, and also that Felbermayr were not a development team.

Yeah , but word is thay Felbermayr are doing Michelin tyre testing on the beast .

Quite possibily their not getting one straight away , but maybe they will get to use their test hack at Le mans , just a thought .

Could that car be eligable for Am class ? As there isnt a old version of it ? Didnt Krohn use a 458 2 years ago in Am ?

Supposing Manthey is better than a Porsche-Works-Team. They shown it (with intensive works support) on the Nürburgring many times. Great to see Manthey finally at Le Mans.

Manthey is the official Porsche works team , as I said last June ..... hence the name " Porsche AG Team Manthey ".

Porsche AG is the works team ..... and there hasnt been one in many years ..... delighted to see the works squad return .
Manthey finally at Le Mans , for the 2nd time only , so far .

This is what a friend of mine said as well. He mentioned Manthey was involved in the GT3R factory effort, 997 RSR effort, and now the 991.

Great news ! As a Porsche fan I can't wait to see how they perform in LM and WEC

Is it possible to see another team run this car in 2013 ? Maybe after Le Mans if the car is competitive enough and the development goes well ?

When the GT3R first appeared at Le Mans back in '99, one car was entered by Dave Maraj & Champion, the other by Manthey...

Honestly, I'd prefer more Porsche teams, and more Ferrari, BMW and Aston Martin teams too.

As disappointed as it was to read about the lack of support for the 997 for 2013 probably leading directly to Felbermeyer and FL not running WEC and ALMS respectively, this is equally encouraging news. Two factory Porsche AG Manthey 991s essentially guarantees 3 two car factory teams in GTE-Pro next year. Prodrive, AF Corse and Manthey is already a big improvement on last year's entries. Anything additional is gravy at this point.

It's nice to get official confirmation. No mention in the article of when we can expect it to debut, any guesses?

Yeah, you have to step back sometimes in order to step forward. I see this as one example.
