Formula Fords - Is Gaymore going to walk it?
Looking at the times from the official tests Gaymore is looking very strong. Is this going to be an easy win for him? Who are his nearest rivals?

I don't think he'll walk it, but he's got to be one of the favorites. Oliver Jarvis is also good as is Tom Kimber-Smith and if Ben Clucas gets a deal together he could also be up there. He had the best time of the afternoon at the Brands Test.
P.S.isn't it Gaymor not Gaymore. Last edited by medler; 31 Mar 2003 at 17:28. |

Francesca the best site is www.Formulaford.info.
When I was at Silverston race school last summer there was a guy called Jay Verdnik there from Australia he was testing with team JLR after the course. He did something in the Ausie V8 series I heard. He was going to do a full season with JLR I think or do a full season with another FF team. Anybody know anything about what hes doing? If he is doing FF watch out hes good. |

Hey,
I'm always up to date at www.britishsingleseaters.cjb.net with the Ford's. I got lot's of PR releases about Verdnik last year from JLR Hamish but it's all gone quiet since he tested last summer and I havn't heard his name mentioned or linked with any other team throughout the winter. As for Gaymor walking it I think a certain Mr Clucas will have something to say about that if/when he signs for Jamun. Also you've gotta remember how he crumbled last year even when leading a race such as at Snetterton so he may not be able to drive in the dominant style Barber did last year. A prime example would be James Courtney in F3 last year, he was easily the quickest man in the field over a lap but put him in a race and 9 times out of 10 he couldn't cut it hence he missed out on the title to Robbie |

From what I remember about Tom at the Snett race last year he was taken out by Jan Heylen. Thats not what I call crumbling under pressure, its what I call bad luck. Still I wouldn't bet against Clucas, Jarvis or Kimber-Smith taking the title.

Well it was one of those Courtney, Kerr type incidents so I'm not getting into another one of those arguements but he should have won at some point last year let's face it. He had two ex-works Van Diemen men running him and a brand new Van Diemen so all was in place but he continuely lagged behind the Van Diemen boys and Mr England.
Also all the stories I've read on here about him making himself sick he gets that nervous before he races can't be good. If they're true that is, I just remember reading them a while back. I reckon it's going to be a vintage year, so many candidates for the title. I'll still go with Ben though. Alx Danielsson should also be hot as well. |

daniel clarke might win one or two but nothing else. if ben clucas can find the money (and i hope he does), i'd say he'll be up for the title too.
