Goodwood Revival
I am planning on attending the revival this year for the first time. Being in Canada I'm completely unfamiliar with the area. Any suggestions about accommodation, viewing areas etc. would be most appreciated. I'm a senior photographer with Victory Lane Magazine and the Canadian editor so I anticipate media credentials.
Thanks Bob H |

Is it possible that Lord March is behind in correspondence ?
Has anybody received an invite yet ?? Its getting a bit late for the overseas crowd ? Or tp prepare that long unseen special car ? I know that some have pencilled the slot into their calendar but at some stage one needs to know, otherwise Spa is beckoning, I have neve raced there as its usually the week after Goodwood and I rarely race 2 weekends on the trott. Couple of weeks ago they were sorting the programme of races.
Understand no Pre War sports. Suppose they have to invite cars that didn't do the Members Meeting? |

Although Richard lives about 2 miles from me and he frequents the same pub now and then and furthermore I'm sure he's capable enough to answer for himself but for the avoidance of doubt his name is Richard Bishop Miller and he races a 500 f3 and I think he has several to choose from. He was recently caught up and injured quite badly from what I have read in the much publicized incident at VSCC Silverstone in April. Hopefully he will make a speedy recovery etc.

probably in favour of the V8 rumble
another circus freakshow IMO. Although no doubt fun for those participating, hardly a nod to the past. |

Zef, you are wrong
and RBM only mentioned the downside for F3s and not the considerable upside what happend is F Juniors had a race each year, this in itself on a three year cycle for different types of Juniors th 500 F3s had a rce every 3 years what has happened now: F3s will get a race at the Revival every other year and will get a race at the members meeting when not racing at the Revival so F3 gains one race per 3 years Juniors will lose precisely that slot as 500s and Juniors will go on a 4 year cycle, so there will be one Revival every 4 years with not Juniors. buuut, as I understand it, there will be one Junior race at each members meeting clever concept: intesting interrelation between MM and Revival and more variety between the Revivals on year by year basis and built in differences between Revival and MM in a given year expect to see similar for other types of cars in their cycles I know that this is all new and requires complex thinking but its now getting a bit late for the invites of course, they will allways be able to fill the grid but I know of someone who has now given up or given in to pressure from his wife and booked a yacht for September... I can't argue with that Rudolf!
I still stand by the period correct races being pushed aside for the circus sideshows though, but that's part and parcel of the Revival to make it all work I guess. |

so if an entrant has both a F500 and front engined disc braked FJ what probability does he have of recieving an invite for MM and the Revival in the same year?! |

jokes aside
I agree with Zef.. I dont like the artificial one make races but the public and the press seems to you can create a new theme for that each year avoiding the "same old, same old" trap and the general public anyway tends to reduce complex topics to simple preferences "the largest grid of Ferrari GTOs, ever" has more pull then a 100 % faithful reenactment of the 1959 chichester cup grid dont forget drivers/entrants are the hired help (even if some of them think themselves more important) the paying public are the patrons just thank god, we are spared celebrity races as they tried at the Silverstone Classic, with celebrity chefs and runner ups from "Britains got Talent" driving the cars coupled with autograph signing not that I would mind autographing some knickers.... however talking about the Revival, the last Revival for the 500cc F3s was 2011 and my understanding is that the next Revival for the 500cc F3s probably will be 2017. Richard |

as I understand, but am an outsider:
worst case for next 500 F3 revival race in 2 years time every other year maths is original 500 F3 slot + one pinched from Juniors but, i am not a Goodwood offical, so its my interpretation Rudolf |
