ORMSKIRK MOTORFEST
ORMSKIRK MOTORFEST SUNDAY 28th AUGUST 2011 The Aintree Circuit Club Require at least another 10-15 Experienced Course Marshals to Register in Advance Through some generous sponsorship, we will be entering all Marshals who pre-register for the event into the Marshal’s Draw with first prize being £100 cash with a second prize of £50! + other goodies. The event is non-competitive but will feature a unique 1 mile road course comprising the existing Town Centre Streets. We are well covered for the static display areas but I would encourage Marshals from our Member Clubs to assist with the running of the Road Course. This will be operational from approx’ 2.30pm to 4.30pm and is probably best described from an operational aspect as a mix between a Special Stage and a Speed Course with the emphasis clearly on safety and spectator control. Main event display areas are open 11am to 6pm. The closed road activities will initially start with low-speed parades/processions (mostly Vintage and Classics) to ensure everything is running to plan followed by controlled themed display laps by the motorcycles (road & racing) and competition cars and some "specials". These include Williams and BRM F1’s, Tom Boardman’s current SEAT BTCC car, Sean Huyton’s 2011 Ginetta G40, a 900BHP Golf GTi, a 600BHP Vauxhall Tigra, 2 ex-works MG ZRs + several well-known local race and rally cars together with some very interesting racing motorcycles including the Le Mans and German G.P. winning Sealey 500 and several Manx and G.P. winning machines. There will also be some special entries which already includes a locally owned Ferrari Enzo and still to be confirmed Group B rally cars! Steve Perez has also kindly loaned us his Vodka Kick Hot Air Balloon, which will be inflated and launched from Coronation Park with balloon rides to be confirmed. Please Note: This will not be a high-speed demonstration type event but will still enable the public to smell, hear, see, feel and experience what we already know to be the magic of a live "motorsport" event. This is also a completely free event for the public to attend, as well as being also free to enter a car or bike and we therefore expect a large public attendance and would welcome any assistance you can provide to ensure the safe and efficient running of the event. Registration Forms can be completed on screen and returned by email or printed and posted for people not on the net! Finally, in addition to the £150 Prize Draw, we will also be providing refreshment vouchers to all Marshals. To Volunteer please contact Michael Ashcroft direct at the following.
