HP PhotoSmart 850
As I cant justify pushing the necessary boat required out to go full on SLR Digital I've just (literally) bought an HP PhotoSmart 850.
Does anybody have any experience with this camera? Snetterton F3 will be it's first outing, alongside my regular Pentax 35mm SLR |

Bit of a dissapointing weekend.
I found an annoying delay between pressing the shutter and it actually firing. This resulted in having to anticipate many shots, with varying levels of success. Hopefully I have a couple of good reels of slides to compensate. I think If I situate myself at head on vantage points I will be able to use the HP adequately but not so if anything is passing through the shot. check for yourself anyway the four shots I have loaded so far..on the Snetterton link at http://www.paulsands.org Even more annoyingly I have since seen Canon EOS 10D's for sale at £900 !!! a price that had I not bought the HP AND a slide scanner at the weekend I would probably have stumped up..ah well c'est la vie. Guess what Santa will be asked for this Christmas |

Try the EOS D30 or D60 they should be falling in price now that the 10D is out.
I use a D30 and its good, I use it more for motorracing and football there is a slight shutter delay but you soon work around it |

When I say delay its not that noticable, and shouldnt effect anything when you have used it for a day or so.
