Very hot, followed by thunderstorms?

'Friday’s practices will take place in extreme heat with the day’s high 39’C.

That is likely to mean the track temperature will reach the high 50s, if not even higher.

Saturday it will be a bit cooler with the day’s high 31’C, however, that’s because the thunderstorms are forecast to arrive.

Meteorologists are predicting a small chance of rain in the morning but that should getting steadily heavier in the afternoon.

There is a 45% chance of thunderstorms during Saturday’s qualifying.

As for Sunday, that will be cool and wet.

The day’s high is 23’C and the weatherman says there is a 70% chance of rain during the 67-lap German GP.'

I think the heat will be back to a comfortable level for Mercedes on Sunday, but they may struggle to get a front row qualifying position.

Well FP2 has the Ferraris 1st and 2nd (LeClerc ahead, of course ) , with Lewis in very close attendance, followed by Bottas and Verstappen.


Whether that will continue to be the situation in the changing weather conditions, who knows ?

Ferrari have a truple whammy. If Vettel’s not making mistakes, the car is letting them down, and if the car’s not letting them down, the team are screwing up

Good to see both RBRs among the Mercs, they are their only serious challengers atm

Ferrari have a long history of doing an act from the Keystone Cops. I thought they'd managed to get rid of it, but no, it keeps coming back to haunt them.

If it's not driving into things, or being driven into, it's appalling strategy calls or good old simple mechanical failures.

I really felt for both drivers today, they didn't deserve that.

Well if they keep this up the red car team is likely to start blaming each other another round of changes in the team is likely.

That's been one of the historical causes, mind. Continual instability in the team structure and/or management and/or long term strategy makes everyone close down and try to look after number 1.

They are their worse enemy, if they had the ability of Mercs to work together then they would not be having the problems that always seem to appear

Never mind the issues with other teams....clearly the superstar of qualifying today was Kimi. He wasn't that far off of the pole time either.

With that stellar performance in a lowly midfield car, I may consider voting him as driver of the race before the race has started.
