I saw the car yesterday and as said in a previous thread if it goes as good as it looks it should be impressive.
I would also like to congratulate Pat on all the hard work he was putting in to promote rallycross in these "troubled times", lets hope everthing comes out in the wash as the saying goes.

Isn't that former Minicross champion James Guest looking at Pat Doran's Fiesta in the top picture?

Have to say it took a second for me to recognise Pat - very smartly dressed in a blazer!

I got a cracking photo of Pats car at 5pm on friday when there was next to no one about I also got a good one of Liams Saxo but I dont know how to post them so if any one really wants to see them send me a pm and I'll e-mail them.
One thing though why had both cars still got their headlights in?

BRUMBRUM has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Cracking car, bit of a beast.
Will have have to get the engine finished before March though otherwise can't see it going very fast.....

Will also have to have a look at the regs as im not sure that roof inlet and rear spoiler are legal in Europe..... rear spoiler must not be above the roof of the car and also that roof inlet was taken off Hansen's car when found to be illegal!!!!!

It was just a bit of a airfix model kit (i.e painted rolling shell.) Thats why the headlights were still in. There was barely any mechanical components in it.

Rear spoiler is not allowed to be visable when looking from the front of the car - it looks like it's ok. Looks like its left hand drive - did it have a steering wheel. I thought Pat struggled with lhd on the escort. How long can he use the YB for until it runs out of homologation - thought he might have fitted a Zetec. Certainly looks the business.

If you look at a profile of a fiesta the roof is highest at the front and tapers back, so the spoiler should be below the highest point of the roof.

That explains Pat's but Liams looked ready to go it & still had its lights in. Maybe we're going to have a night race.
Yes its a left hooker,
It all depends on how tall you are as to wether you can see the spoiler from the front Seriously though the spoiler is definately no higher than the roof.

It does look really good. Lets hope it goes as well. Can't wait for Lydden to see it in action.
Does anyone know if John McClusky will be over with the Xsara for Lydden?

Yep, John will be there. Met him at the Irish rally x awards last nite & he informed me he is going to Lydden. He will be contesting all the BRDA & Irish aswell as a few ERC starting with round 1 in France. Driving the car for the 1st time at a test session in Blython next Friday.. looks like a busy season for JMC!

I guess if John is at Lydden we can expect to see Mark Watson there too in the 306? Dorans Fiesta should be ready by then too shouldn't it? At the autosport show the engine was in (well the block was) but there were no ancillaries in place, it shouldn't be too much hassle to get these in surely as the engine is the one that was in the Escort WRC Pat ran last year.
