Interesting statement from the ACO, they will be monitoring the tyre temps before fitment during the race.
***A spokesperson for the FIA clarified to Sportscar365 that checks on tire pre-heating are being conducted this week in response to Antonello Coletta’s comments about the potential for cars to gain an advantage on out laps while the tires are still cold.

***Regarding tire warming, the supplementary regulations state: “Any process that involves a direct or indirect attempt at modifying the temperature of a tire (compared to the ambient temperature) is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: warming of the car’s suspension components, wheel hub assembly and braking system; modification of the filling medium, water heating system/element when washing the wheels.”

Despite starting 2nd, I think Bourdais should be in 1st within the first or 2nd lap. Average lap time I think is faster than the Porsche

The car is starting 3rd. I guess he will start the car and push hard and I guess it might be carnage.

I think the Porsche might have the better race pace once it settles down, but I’ve not looked at stint times this year. Sorry.

Since Alex Lynn has the 5-place penalty, Bourdais was moved up to 2nd on the grid

I have been wondering how teams could warm their tires without getting caught. Placing them in the sun isn't cutting it when it is overcast

This is my most likely idea so far: teams have some type of heating element installed underneath their laid down floor of choice in their garages. That way, they just set the tires on a spot on the floor that is being heated but nobody would be able to tell since the tires are sitting out in the open by themselves.

Or maybe have some of the crew sit on them after consuming vast amount of beans and lighting a pipe.

What kind of engine do these LMP3's have / who makes them?

Currently that's a 5.0 V8 by Nissan, since 2025 it will be a 3.4 TT V6 by Toyota/ORECA.
