One make race championships in the UK
Should these be reserved for UK makes only and promote industry rather than the overseas makes?

What constitutes a UK make these days?
MG/Rover sells vehicles made in India, Ford which was once seen as a British firm now makes virtually nothing with a blue oval on the front in the UK, the Japanese marques assemble plenty of vehicles in this country, would a Honda Civic Cup be allowed? Even cottage industry marques like Noble use cheap African plants for manufacturing. |

IMO No. If people want to race a particular car and can fill the grids (or pay for the circuit hire with increaed fees) then fair play to them.
Also Guy raises a good point. Would we be limited to just TVRs? (I exagerate). |

No, we could have a Black Cab series as well! Oops, forget that, they use Nissan engines! |

Honda Civics are designed and built in Britain. In Australia cars had to be assembled in Australia. City Rovers are made in India so they would not be allowed however the MG ZS would be allowed. Jaguars, Aston Martins and TVRs would all be allowed. BMW Minis are assembled here; they would also be allowed.
Adam, Just being limited to TVRs for a short period might be a good idea. |

Caterham run very good series! Yes Caterham would very much be part of British Motorsport. SCV8 as well!

Not at all. Welcome to ten-tenths.
Fantastic cars. Love 'em. A full British car series that sounds wonderful to boot! And good website BTW, how's the season going? Last edited by Adam43; 19 May 2004 at 19:27. |

Thanks Adam
Season is disappointing so far. Had two major accidents, when in 6th and 8th. Costs getting out of control and not getting the results on the board I should do. Still, first full season of racing in anything, so to be up in 6th in a Tuscan race can't be all bad, even if I did then lock up and make friends with Mr Barrier on the last lap at Knockhill on Sunday |
