Excellent news, and four Brits on the grid next year too - the most for a while.
Alonso is a proven superstar and Lewis is clearly a special talent too - delighted with that. |

I wonder how much truth is in this link: http://f1.racing-live.com/f1/en/head...24102636.shtml
If there really were some doubts about Hamilton's ability to relay information about setup, we couldve had this over and done with if Ron had Hamilton in the car 6 months earlier, which wouldnt have been impossible at all. |

This is exciting news (for us brits anyway). I think we're going to see Lewis-mania in the media like we did when Button first started in 2000.
By the way, with Alonso and Hamilton, who thinks McLaren have now got the strongest driver line up? |

I think De La Rosa deserved the seat more, but well done young Lewis, we can expect big things from this guy in the future.

Congrats to Lewis, but I reckon after one year he'll be shipped off to a lesser team (al la Button at Williams then Benetton)

Well done Lewis! All the best for '07.
Worth noting as well that both de le Rosa and Paffet have been retained as test drivers. |

This is excellent news for Formula 1 and for Britain. I have huge faith in Lewis' ability and I do believe Ron Dennis will stand by him and allow him to time and mistakes to develop and mature into the F1 star he's going to become. After the prospective depression of an F1 without Schumacher, I think the sun's about to rise on a fresh new era. Go get 'em Lewis !

Good news, it will be fascinating to see how he does (and also interesting to compare his progress to that of Kovaleinen - I can't remember the last time two rookies both made their debuts in top cars in the same season!) Good luck Lewis!

Yep this confirmation is good for British F1 fans and the sport generally.
There's some top new talent on the grid next year. It's going to be great to see how he gets on with the task at hand alongside Alonso, the man likely to be the benchmark for the forseeable future and just as interesting to see how he fares against the other fancied 'newcomers' like Kubica and Kovalainen. |

Fantastic news for Lewis
Really pleased for him - and I bet his dad is cock a hoop today too Also great news for UK Formula Renault as a feeder series to Formula 1 with Hamilton and Kovaleinen (and Raikkonen of course) all having made their way through UK Formula Renault. |

it will be interesting to see... Lewis choice shows a clear change of attitude from RD, don't you think so? I think that since signing Michael Andretti this is the first time he is taking big risks on his second driver seat.

Good news (albeit not unexpected)!
Next year we will see many interesting youngsters on the grid; the post-Schumacher couldn't begin a better way! And if , at the end of 2007, some od farts (DC, Barrichello in primis) will realize they have enough money to enjoy a wonderful retirement, things are bound to improve furthermore |

- Hamilton does an excellent job: good for him and the team - Hamilton has a troubled season: Alonso will enjoy the beloved role of first driver, like it had at Renault: a bit out of McLaren tradition but good as well in case of involvement in the WDC fight. |

Well done Lewis Hamilton, I honestly think that he will be Ron Dennis' favorite in years to come like Ayrton Senna was and Mika Hakkinen
