Getting good track access as a photographer?

Hi,

We have a very keen photographer who followed our series last year as a spectator/photographer and is planning to take a much more active role this year as our series photographer.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a resource explaining how/what he needs to do to get photographer type access to race meetings. I'm guessing he has to have some insurance and some sort of accreditation/training but I can't find any resources anywhere pointing me in the right direction.

Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Cheers

Dave

If you speak to Andy Bothwell at Brands hatch - 01474 872 331 he will be able to give you the low down on that type of thing for MSV's circuits ...

Im in NZ but I think its a pretty standard deal apart from a few quirks here and there. You have to bang on doors, accreditation usually comes from the ruling body or promoter, and you usually have to have had images published or have letter from an editor to suport your application. You will also need public liability insurance and sign an indemnity form at the track when attending meetings. The ruling body will ahve safety stadards that you have to adhere to to protect both yourself, drivers and the public. Hope that helps
