Jay should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hi there, I am going to get a PC driving wheel, but I am unsure which one to get.

The MS Sidewinder ones look good. Any other suggestions?

I'm looking for a wheel too.
I haven't tested any myself but I've looked around a bit and the MS wheel and the Guillemot Ferrari wheel look the most promising.

I think it was the MS wheel that had a single axis for the
pedals. Therefore you cannot use the brake and the throttle at the same time. I've heard this was not very handy in Grand Prix Legends.
The Ferrari wheel also has a stick shift so I think I'm gonna get me that one.

For the rest I've only heard (very) good things about these too wheels.

I would like to know how much of a difference it makes to have Force Feedback. Some say it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, another reviewer found it only made the games harder and more tireing (how do you spell that??).

Well I just got a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback wheel.

It has 3 axes and is great in Grand Prix Legends, and even better in Grand Prix 3 with Force feedback. You can set just about everything on the wheel with their software.

The Force Feedback is great. You have to fight the wheel as you bounce over the curbs. You can feel with car start to slip before it actually does, and then react appropriately, and when you bounce across the gravel you really feel it. It means that you have to work harder to drive a lap of Spa, especially through Eau Rouge and Blanchimont. I like it, others may not. You can change the tension and sensitivity and Force of the wheel of the software.

I would like to reinforce everyhting Jay has just said. The MS sidewinder wheel with force feedback is the pick of the bunch. The force feedback is excellent because it provides you with real "feel", something tht is missing in most other units. As well as making GP2 and GP3 so much more realistic and enjoyable, it makes a dramatic improvement in Toca 2 and actually makes GPL playable.

Thanks for your info.

Unfortunately (well) I impulsively bought a stick and throttle for flightsims and that used up the money I had planned for a wheel. But since prices tend to drop after christmass I'll have to look out for that MS wheel.

Jay, perhaps you didn't know but the v1.2 patch for GPL has force feedback. I've been told it's good but, what do I know about Force Feedback...

Just got it! Works great!

The FFB in Grand Prix Legends is even better than in GP3. This is one great wheel!

The best steering wheel is the Logitech Wingman Formula force feedback. It is slightly less money than the ms one and yet feels far more realistic.

Look at the Joytech Jordan Steering wheel, i managed to get a special deal on it at PC World for £30, the force feedback is around £80. It is brillant, you have gear lever just like in touring cars, this is excellent for Sports Car GT and TOCA 2.
