Pit/start-line waterproof essentials

Can anyone recommend a supplier or website where I might find some hooded clipboards/equipment for duties in the Pit lane and Start/Finish line? (especially for use in bad weather)THANKS

NJF you don't need to spend a fortune on these things - I find that a large clear plastic bag over a normal clipboard is just as effective as long as you remember to write from the bottom upwards (and in pencil on wet paper!)

I've heard of people talking from the bottom but writing??? that sounds a good trick

Isn't it just - stops you having to write on wet paper. The only downside of course is that your sleeve drips over what you have just written, leaving someone else the problem of deciphering it!

Thank Alan Ward for the bright idea!

There is always the "saw what" position, saves writing. but seriously there must be a better way of doing things in this day and age.

Once you have used a Weatherwriter board you won't go back to plastic bags! (Shiela, get Steve to get you one as a Christmas present).

An ideal companion to the Weatherwriter board is the pressurised biro pen refill. Writes on wet paper. Not cheap (£7.30 for three) but essential for marshals who have to write as part of their job.

Their waterproof paper is also good if you are doing notices to go outside or forms to be completed in wet weather.

(All from the same website).

Regards

Jim

Jim,

Thanks for the suggestion of a Christmas Pressie - I'm sure Steve will be delighted with it! However, I have to say I don't do nearly as much writing these days as we used to in the past. Pit reports seem to be non-existent now (apart from infringements).
