SBR outsmarts again.
A lot of people are confused about what Ambrose said about his tyres being used...SBR used tyres from last years allotment, not the new ones given for the GP. Get 2nd and 3rd for a Non-Champ round and have a spare set sitting. If you read the rules very carefully, you'll realize that SBR have taken advantage of the situation. Apart from allocation for the meet, there is no stopping you from using your old(but new) rubber. SBR have a brand new set of wets at their disposal, during this year. I believe the other Teams don't. This explains MA's comment and why he could not hold Skaife back. Bring on Adelaide.

SBR have found a way to be beaten in three out of three races in front of the biggest crowd of the year? A master-stroke!

Still the biggest international motorsport event in Australia.
I would also be interested in where you got your information. Because I found this: "17.3.1 At each Round of a series, at a time stated in the Supplementary or Further Regulations, control tyres will be randomly selected, numbers will be recorded and the tyres allocated to Cars by the CTD, and this allocation process will be open to scrutiny by any Team." It doesn't say dry or wet so I'm not sure, but doesn't that mean they are randomly allocated tyres? Maybe you can quote your section... |

Does that not state a "Round of the Series"?

Trouble with having those wets is that if they are not used in the short term, they cure or go hard.
