Mosler got a raw deal in Grand Am
Does anyone besides me think that Mosler got a raw deal in Grand Am? They switched from GT to GTS only to hear GTS wasn't needed after 2003, and were way down on HP to the AGT cars. Why didn't Grand Am, who have managed to make an old inline six BMW stay with Ferrari 360s and Prosches, cut them a break on the restrictor or something? It would seem that it would make for a better show than seeing Tommy Riggins and co plow around and collect the GTS title.

absolutely a proper GTS/GT car over the Tubeframe monsters (it is even a 2001 spec Trans-Ammer/GT1 car although riggins has been doing a great job) would be welcome, and the Mosler is elegant in comparison.
I think it is no coincidence that Mosler (a Florida Resident) and the Chase DP uses Mosler Bodywork for the Chevy power plant hmmm, does Warren Mosler have a hand in this? i have been chided for this before but I think he does. |

I don't agree. If you read the rule's the MT900 has as good a chance of winning GTS as a tube frame GTS-
11-2 Mosler MT 900GTS: This car is presented by Morrison Mosler Auto: Using a GM LS6 engine with the stock bore of 3.898 inches and stroke of 3.62 inches. A dry sump oil system is required consisting of a single, standard front engine mounted, belt-driven oil pump not exceeding 10 inches in length and 3.5 inches in cross-section, and five- stage maximum. The crankshaft, rods, pistons, lifters, timing chain, valves, springs, rocker arms and the ECM are free. The maximum total valve lift allowed is 0.585-inch. Internal porting and polishing of the cylinder head ports is permitted. The stock valve sizes must be used, and a maximum 10.5:1 compression ratio is allowed. The stock untouched LS6 intake manifold and throttle body must be used. Maximum allowed engine RPM 7000. Wing/wicker cannot be higher than two inches below the roofline. Minimum weight 2400 pounds.
