Labre Porsche might participate as well, as dress rehearsal for Le Mans. Along others.

I do hope that we have field of that sort of quality, already booked hotel 500 yards from the track, so only 3 months to go,
Spa is the best warm up for Le mans for the cars and it's not bad for me. |

Seems crazy that Le Mans itself could have a lower car count than 4 of its supporting rounds in the ILMC.

Can we, at this stage, assume that the Spa round is going to be on the 8th and the comment from Endurance Sportscar (retweeted by Matthieu Lahaye) on twitter that the ACO were trying to shift the date to the 7th was a red herring?

Looking at the Le Mans entry list, I'd guess Prospeed might run their second car at Spa- 2nd reserve on the LM entry list, and Spa is their home race
Similarly, if the Kronos Lola-Aston for Vanina Ickx turns up anywhere now that they only got a reserve slot for LM, I reckon it would be at Spa? |

Sorry Mark you are missing a little of what I mean.
There are only 42 garages in total and that includes the F1 garages. There might have been 20 free garages last year because multi car teams use 1 garage for 2 cars on the top paddock but in total there can still only be 51 cars for the race. |

Imola may be limiting to 53 cars. Each track has a different limit on maximum number of cars due category, track and paddock facilities.
Spa currently has a limit for this race to 51 cars and I am wondering how they will sort out who gets in. |

Dutch Supercar has run close to 80 cars at Spa - if with the predictable results. I could only imagine that this is a relatively recent change, perhaps even in response to the DSC fracas.

I think there has always been this 51 car count limit for this level of category performance certainly in the last 5-7 years.

and thankfully getting rid of the Haug-nose for some extended pits it is always possible to fit a circuit with more cars than pitboxes. For what it is worth, I am fairly certain that the amount of cars that is allowed to take part in a race meeting is defined in one or another FIA rule. I am fairly certain that I once read about it, that is. |

For the 24 in Nurburgring several teams share 1 garage and wait in line for refuelling!!! We do not want that in ILMC, can you imagine? It is, I would say, mostly circuit safety that is taken into account, not just pit boxes, and the FIA do determine it for tracks, certainly on ILMC calendar. |

From the Spa 1000km 2010 supplementary Regulations:
3.12 - Number of cars admitted: - Qualifying practice sessions: 77 - Race : 64(http://www.race-rally.be/images//Supplementary%20regulations%20-%201000Km%20of%20Spa%202010%20-%20GB.pdf) same this year I'll suppose. |

The LMS website where I got a maximum of 51 cars from says it is the same for 2011. http://www.lemans-series.com/en/s52_....php?circuit=4 Supplementary regs will be correct though. |
