Engine music!
It is totally incredible what a couple of bored Asiatech and Minardi mechanics can do with an F1 engine... Just listen!

They showed that on Sky at Suzuka. Very clever but slightly scary what can be achieved with engine maps!!

I think that the idea originally came from Peter Windsor who talked about it in an interview on Sky Digi+, doesn't he have anything better to talk about?

For those who don't have headphones or speakers, can anyone tell me what they did? Made the engine play Fur Elise?

I think it was indeed 'when the saints'.A hopeless tune to give as an example.
I had a similar idea a couple of years ago that i rethink every now and then.... i reckon it best to have a group of engines played by computer-or maybe even a musicion on each engine for best 'natural' sound.I'd have f1 engines as lead of course with various other engines playing their respective parts -truck engines playing bass,oz or nascar V8's above that, etc all the way up to the lead section-a group of minardi's for the low tones up to the maclarens for the highest pitch. Imagine the last line of the german national anthem with all all those motors going nuts for the highest notes near their rev limiters!!!! |
