Bathurst 24 hr announcement
Hawkesbury Radio (89.9 FM) and V8Central.com are proud to announce their joint projects for this weekend's Bathurst 24-Hour presented by Formula Green and Eagle Boys Pizza. Following last year's procedures, there will be 5 minute updates every hour just after the news. There will be continual updates from Saturday morning, until late Sunday afternoon with the normal AutoTrack program on Sunday morning. Accompanying this will be a complete internet presence in the form of an unofficial race commentary page. The webpage is a bare-bones design (yes, it will look VERY plain), but will be an automatically refreshing page containing a leaderboard; track status (green/yellow/etc); weather ; and the important commentary. The concepts behind this system are simple :
- low profile page, so the maximum number of users can be serviced without crashing the server - "fill in the gaps" from the official timing - provide some behind the scenes information on what is happening on & off the track. The idea being that the internet user (typically someone who enjoys watching F1, CART, or WRC timing & commentary online) will be accessing both the official PROCAR timing page, and the commentary page on these sites to enjoy the fullest 24hr coverage they can muster while not being at the track. ---------- Hawkesbury Radio 89.9 (www.hawkradio.org.au) is one of the oldest community radio stations in Australia and commenced in 1982. The direct listening area covers the Hawkesbury City Council local government area, from Seven Hills in the south East to the Blue Mountains in the north and west, and as far as St Albans in the west.. The station is heard outside this area from as far south as Wollongong and north as far as Gosford and the Central Coast and even as far as Bondi in the east. ---------- V8Central.com (www.v8central.com) is an Australian-owned motor racing fan site promoting several national and international series. Dedicated fans donate their time to write original and unique news articles, provide photo's, and donate money to keep the site online and up to date. In just over two years, the site has grown to almost 2 million hits per month, with a close community talking on almost every motorsport imaginable. |
