Tim Harvey
Is tim harvey quite possibly the nicest BTCC driver? He is one quality bloke. I asked him if he would talk to my best mate who was sat at home with his arm in plaster up to his shoulder, and he just took my phone and talked!
Now can u imagine Yvan Muller doing that? YOU HAVE TO QUEUE TO SEE HIM! I always find the old school drivers will talk to you more. What does everyone think? |

What A nice thing to do eh? I'll bet it cheered your mate up!
I think you may be right about the old School drivers though. Derek Warwick was always great fun on the pitlane walkabouts, I always got well with David Leslie, but the nicest of the lot (With the possible exeption of Mr. B&Q) was Will Hoy.... Oh and welcome to Ten Tenths! |

I get what youre saying w/the old school. The times i met JC and David Leslie they were absolutely sound, but ive also met Yvan and thought he was really good fun!

in ice racing the team that used to be supported by Opel, where about to go under, so Yvan came along and said he would race for free! |

Some of the nicest BTCC drivers I've every spoken to have to be Kurt Luby, John Cleland, Will Hoy, Steve Soper, Anthony Read, Tim Harvey, Frank Biela, Yvan Muller Paul Radisich and John Bincliffe.

I don't think Tim Harvey should be in the BTCC this year. I don't think he looks like a very nice person and he is a bit to old and a liability.

Tim Harvey too old and a liability, your joking right. He is one of the most highest rated Touring Car drivers ever I'd say. Not just anyone can win a BTCC championship, you have to have something called talent and natural ability which he loads of.

I admit he used to have talent, but at Oulton Park I was scanning the garages at the pit walk about and im sorry but I just felt funny around him.

I agree with you all that Tim is very nice - in fact all the JSM boys are.
There Tim was being interviewed after the podium and he let us interupt it to see the trophy. He never stops smiling, always has time for a few words and never ever talks down to you. |

I had occasion to talk to Tim before the start of the season about something, he really is a very nice chap! I was doing a bit of a reality check when I was with him, how could I be sitting there talking to this legend! Since then I have been doing reality checks at every event. It was a priviledge just to be lapped by Soper and Harvey last week!! I had a great view of them battling away on the last lap.

You must be joking?

His scraps with the peugeout team was some of the most exciting racing i've had the priviledge to watch. John cleland should have proved that you can never be too old for BTCC. Now there's another quality bloke... |

I was amazed to see in Autosport that Tim Harvey is only 39. Yvan Muller is something like 32/33 so you can't say Tim Harvey is old.

No offence to Harvey but I cannot wait until he gets a replacement driver in!

Speaking as a 38 year old, 39 is NOT old...
Glad we got that one straightened out Seriously though, some drivers are past it by 30 and others are just coming into their prime! So age is not necessarily a major factor. If Tim can stilkl win races (I think he can!) then he isn't too old. |

Tim Harvey back in the series is brilliant news- he's driving as well as he ever has from what I've heard both from BTCC & GT's- some of the younger drivers could learn a lot from racing against Mr Harvey |

Tim Harvey is a smashing bloke. He reminded me to take my lens cap off
Friendly bloke and up for a laugh. I haven't got a bad word to say about him. If he hasn't been racing, he's been team leading. But everyone is entitled to their opinions and preferences and not everyone is going to like him. |

wow is this a return to gentlemen driving !!
we have some nice characters in the btcc this year whilst i prefer cut throat professional top line drivers in my series re (how the fia gt championship panned out and 97/98 btcc), we must realise that it just isnt going to happen at the moment in the btcc so its giving the gents of motorsport a chance to shine again come back andy rouse, frank sytner, james weaver, jeff allam, win percy, etc etc |

Spoon, you're talking poetry there!
Randy Mouse, Bruiser Allam, The Win and best of all SYTNER!!! in touring cars again? I'd pay! Not that I'm actually a Sytner fan (not while Carrie's listening, anyway) but he's never been anything less than spectacular. Oh, and on-topic, I'm adding my voice to the throng that have had a chance to confirm that Tim Harvey's a seriously nice chap. Bumped into him at GPM a few years back, when he was running the Labatts Sierra. |
