ALMS and CNN
Probably not that big of a deal, but I saw this on the front page of CNN.com:

I'd like to think that was more of a legitimate exposure piece, but since CNN is based out of Atlanta, I can't help think that was just a reporter taking a peak out the window and wondering what all the fuss is. Still good for some exposure, I guess.

Yeah...that is GREAT coverage. When you have to fight for column inches and time in non-top class media, getting 4:34 on someone like CNN is brilliant.
I've seen news crews come to cover events and not bother to cover another one at the same location. Don't undersell this, it is a really good spot for the ALMS. |

Makes that other series "thinking about going to fuel injection" seem more irreverent than ever.

For some reason, I missed the second N... Read ALMS and CN... wondering if ALMS was going to add more classes, CN and CN2.

The ALMS is a "green" series, right? You know, since the cars run diesel in.. Oh, wait, no. I forgot, none of them do. Well, okay, they've got the Hybrid cars that...oh, wait. No, they don't have those anymore either, and the Porsche isn't gonna run any races. Well, at least some of the teams run an E10 ethanol blend, that's pretty environmentally conscious. But wait, Nascar is switching to E15, in all of its cars. Doesn't that make it the "greener" series? |

You also missed the car running Isobutanol.
About half the field is running E85. E10 is only the minimum requirement for all teams. |

Woah easy guys. Not all Nascar fans are like Picchiofan. Some people, like me, love the technological strides that series like the ALMS have done.
What fuel did the Porsche Hybrid run? |

Getting back to the CNN news piece, I found it interesting when Scott Atherton was talking about the various manufacturers.
He listed BMW, Ferrari, Porsche and finally Corvette. Not Chevrolet, not GM, but Corvette. It just struck me as odd. Is Corvette so much cooler than it's brand that Atherton purposely ignores the Bowtie company? dh |

Well, Corvette is kind of a standalone. Only built in one plant, unique chassis, etc. It's always been separate from all the other GM brands, which are often almost interchangeable. (Looking at a business card from a friend who works for Corvette, and although it has the GM logo on it, it specifically says "Corvette" under his job title.)
