2016 Pirelli World Challenge Rounds 3 & 4: St. Petersburg
Only one week after the season opening event at Circuit of the Americas, the GT classes of the Pirelli World Challenge head to the streets of St. Petersburg for Rounds 3 & 4 of the championship.
This will be particularly challenging for EFFORT Racing, who are in a race against time to have their #31 Porsche 911 GT3-R (wrecked heavily in Round 2) rebuilt in time to practice on Thursday. Should bring a bit of added variety to the GTS class!

That's probably a blessing. Last years race was hands down, the worst race I've seen of any series for a good decade or so. Everybody spent the 5 minutes of green flag running driving into each other and ignoring yellows. Then it took about half an hour of an hour race to clear up the mess because there wasn't enough trucks dotted around the circuit.
So reduced numbers might be a good thing for this circuit. |

Interesting that the Acuras are called TLX-GT3s on the entry list.

Did I read the schedule right? No practice sessions at all for PWC. You have qualifying and 2 races and thats it?

And St. Pete has always been a yellowfest anyway so not expecting anything else this year. Less awesome cars is an extra disappointment.
We'll see if the series can keep their momentum up, next year the schedule needs some tweaking to avoid back-to-back events like this year (bringing CotA forward a week or two would be the sensible thing to do), something PWC is very much aware of themselves. |

Next year the St. Pete race weekend will revert back to its traditional date of the last weekend of March. The date was moved forward this year due to the clash with Easter Sunday being on March 27th. So CoTA does not need to move its date. The other back-to back race weekends this year are CTMP (May 19-22) and LRP (May 26-28) and Greg Gil has already said that this won't happen next year!

Hopefully the EFFORT guys can finish repairing the #31 car in time for the race on Saturday. Looks like it's going to be close. Auto racing = Team sport. Go Effort Racing! |

indeed, as jeremy would say... green flag running, (99%) clean stuff, that was an entertaining 52 minutes. Also always good to hear Jonny O in the booth (so long as there's no gunfighting involved ). Looking forward to more.

Agreed, really fun GTS race 1. Great drive by Jack Roush Jr. Also really good to hear Johnny O and Jeremy Shaw calling the race, both were at their very best today.
In other news... EFFORT Racing's #31 Porsche is back at their garage! Quote:
