Bryan Herta - Arrows Test Driver
Or at least that's what Autosport seems to be saying. Any thoughts?

Surprise of the week let's call it.
But he has been looking for some sort of F1 deal, whether it be testing or racing. Or is this the first link in that supposed 'All-American Dream Team'? |

There are negotiations between Arrows and Herta, Herta wants a f1 test year and Red Bull wants a bigger part of the American market.
Orange Arrows Red Bull(renamed Cosworth engine) 2002(??): 14 Jos Verstappen 15 Heinz Harald Frentzen T Bryan Herta sounds good to me!! Last edited by steve nielsen; 6 Dec 2001 at 18:19. |

Finally someone from America! Let's hope this plays out and Herta gets the seat.

Bryans 31 isnt he? unfashionably old for F1 but you never know. I think Tom should sign Paul Edwards, he's young and has been quick in F3, Formula Opel, FPA , FF and he was quick when he tested F3000 and Corvette ALMS car. Young, presentable and fashionably Californian - I still cant beleive he hasnt been picked up by a forward thinking American organisation.

I'm not sure that hiring Herta would help Red Bull in America, unless the test leads to a full time drive. Otherwise, the American public will forget about Brian as quick as you can say "Jeff Gordon". Red Bull is still not widely distributed over here. I'm sure their market share wouldn't register on a graph.
But good luck to him regardless. He is a good road course driver, particularly at Laguna Seca. |

I shouldn't think Bryan Herta would fit anybody's demographic, as he hasn't won anything but Laguna Seca lately and has no sponsorship, and anyway who notices a test driver? You can ask Zonta the answer to that one if you can find him these days!
