With your tickets, a timetable is normally included. However, the organising club will normally have one on their website. For instance the timetable for Brands on the 15th can be found here: http://www.msvracing.co.uk/media/101...ue%20three.pdf With regards to proban overalls, there is no complusion to purchase these staight away. It is probably a good idea to do a couple of events to see whether marshalling is to your taste before spending your money. That said, I would recommended that you select some waterproof boots to wear as well as making sure you have a full set of waterproofs. Although for obvious reasons, these shouldn't clash with the flags. Last edited by kipper; 28 Feb 2009 at 21:14. |

Take a few extra layers of clothing, some waterproofs and sturdy boots are advisable, although probans aren't essential at this stage (you might not like it )
Also take enough food and drink to last the day Don't be afraid to ask any questions and above all, stay safe and enjoy yourself |

Sign-on will be in Hailwoods (restaurant), same place as breakfast. White building, flat roof, right hand corner of the main paddock, next to the grandstand at the bottom of Paddock hill bend (if it's still there!).
Introduce yourself to Mildred, at sign-on, and explain to her that this is your first meeting. She is always very helpful. As has been said already, keep dry, warm (take a hot flask or 2) and safe, and enjoy. Don't worry about probans, just try not to wear anything yellow or red, you might get the race stopped. Judging by the amount of tin-tips racing, looks like you'll have a busy day. Last edited by White flag man; 28 Feb 2009 at 21:58. |

Parking will probably be in the paddock, just above the scrutineering bay, by the tunnel entrance.

email about this meeting came out on the 25th.
copied from David Scott's letter Dear Marshal Thank you for volunteering to marshal at the first 2009 car race meeting at Brands Hatch on Sunday March 15th, the ‘Season Starter’. Please note that no passes or event stickers will be issued for this event and your permanent MSVR pass will gain admission to the circuit. Some marshals may receive a paper ticket. No car passes will be issued either and marshals’ parking is in the upper paddock. SIGN ON IN HAILWOODS 0800 – 0900 Briefing under race control 0925 ON POST 0930 Close & Stewards Inspection 0945 Qualifying 1000 I am delighted to tell you that you will receive a voucher at signing on. This will entitle you to a complimentary breakfast in Hailwoods. An event timetable is with this letter for your information. The campsite by K Gate will be open but, unfortunately, there will be no facilities other than those in the paddock. The Kentagon will be open on Saturday evening with bar meals from 6pm – 9.30pm and the bar from 11am – 11pm! marshal's map, to help explain where things are http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=...8443a&t=h&z=14 Mildred does the signing on in Hailwoods and she'll have a list of all the new first timers. Then when you find your post tell your Post Chief that you're new. Althought that might well be self evident. (like your first question on arrival will be "Is this post x? " |

Welcome Marky and Jaysalv to marshalling.
I have just one worry and that is that you have also volunteered for the 750MC meeting at Snetterton on the same weekend. Does this mean that I should check with you which of the days you volunteered for are unlikely to be confirmed or should I just cross off the ones not at Brands. |
