Bahrain 2024
Well it seems the Peugeot team has found some pace to lead FP1 and put the sister car in 4th.

FP2 has started, not sure if there is any coverage other than timing

Times fall by 2 seconds from FP1 to FP2, but this time it was BMW leading the way followed by 5 Porsche and both Ferrari and Toyotas. Peugeot was at the bottom and 3 seconds slower than they were in FP1

ATM they are reviewing unsatisfactory solutions. Baguette strategy, no worry, it will be fiiiine. Sandbagging is a new thing to them…

That car still seems to be hard to tame. Speaking of Bahrain, in 2022 they were looking quite good but in 2023 they were nowhere despite better BOP & updates on the car. Magic.

I have only skimmed the lap charts. It appears that it will be a close weekend. No obvious outliers in the race sims. The strong cars are lapping in the 1.52-1.53 range.

Toyota leading the way with practice laps.
Cadillac second least and only one car. Problems with Peugeot #93? |

Looks like Hartley will take pole unless someone can improve big time.

Be fair to Seb. He's excellent when not in annihilation mode (and I'm no big fan of his). As an aside, I see the #7 is using De Vries more and more for Qually. Is it just because he's the smallest/lightest (aside from being a quick pair of hands) or is the team winding back Kamui to dedicate his time exclusively as Team Principle to make way for another driver? |
